Double irrigating?

Re: Double irrigating?
This has been replaced by railroads giving a food bonus. For example, an irrigate dessert tile with a road on it produces 1/1/1. After building a railroad on the tile, the tile produces 2/1/1. It follows the same pattern for other tiles too.Originally posted by fluxcapacitor

yeah they give extra shields if there's a mine on the tile. For example, desert tile with mine, road = 0/2/1. After placing a railroad on the tile, the tile produces 0/3/1.Originally posted by 9 ECAC Titles
Don't RR's also give an extra shield?
Hence irrigated desert --> road --> RR = 1/1/0 --> 1/1/1 --> 2/2/1.

In Civ2, upgrading irrigation to farmland did not do anything. You had to do that, and get a supermarket in your city Then it would double it. I guess Firaxis just let go of the farmland, but kept the supermarket and its effect"Everything for the State, nothing against the State, nothing outside the State" - Benito Mussolini
