Early July 1402
Battle of Sanhopi Heights
The 5th Army surrounded the Sanhopi hieghts. Field Marshall Easthaven and his Gaurd took a position on the southern end of the heights, on a hill.
He ordered small probes in the night to decipher enemy strengths and weaknesses in their defensive lines. He found the group somewhat disorganized and acted individually.
He began bombardment in the center of the hieghts to annoy the enemy. It was successful in forcing a few small attacks on Apolytonians, this lowered Council manpower by killing them off.
At dawn, Field Marshall Easthaven ordered a small offensive on the eastern edge of the hieghts, when they were engaged for a time being the Apolytonians were to become 'routed' and feign retreat. This was successful in decieving the enemy and enticing them, mainly because of the enemy's disorganization and lack of united leadership under one rule.
The commander of the enemy eastern forces was enticed by the Apolyton routed and retreating forces and ordered his forces to chase them and prevent their escape. He wanted to wipe this group out. All he did was separate his forces from the rest of the council, and once this was done the 'retreating apolytonians' quickly regrouped and advanced towards their chasing enemy.
When the enemy easterners realized what happened morale plummeted, they were attacked from behind and from the front. After a small skirmish, they surrendered.
The Apolytonians now had a firm foothold on the hieghts.
Field Marshall Easthaven quickly ordered the regiments who contained the foothold on the heights to immediately charge forward across the hieghts attacking the enemy western forces and dividing the northern defenders from the southern.
The western defenders were at first caught off gaurd but immediately turned to fight. When they turned, the stationed Apolytonian elements in the west of the western defenders advanced to attack, noticing the enemy's attention on the attacking eastern Apolytonians-giving the enemy westerners the same situation that their eastern partners had. With this diversion, council commanders reinforced the western flank by sending some northern soldiers in an attempt to break through the Apolyton lines and connect the northerners to the westerners. They succeeded for the time being until Easthaven launched a secondary offensive on the north requiring the northern commander to recall his troops to push back the attack, this demoralized the enemy westerners even more and they too soon surrendered.
The battle for the hieghts were divided by the northern heights and the souther heights.
Meanwhile, a small apolyton force tore down the hut, and surrounded the tunnel.
Field Marshall Easthaven then ordered the eastern forces to reinforce and attack the northern hieghts and he ordered the western forces to reinforce and attack the southern hieghts.
After a short hour of fighting the northern defenders surrendered.
Soon after that, the enemy southerners surrendered after losing nearly all of their men...90%.
The hieghts were fortified and Easthaven ascended. The Elite wolf soldiers were sent into the tunnel, here is where the fiercest fighting took place. The Wolf soldiers sent in recieved heavy casualties by well placed booby traps, but when the second wave of men, inluding Easthaven himself, was sent in the underground forces didn't have a chance. Some surrendered but the more obsessed council members refused and either commited suicide or was killed by wolf soldiers. A few tried to surrender but were killed anyways.
=========
Easthaven bursted into a small room, sword held high, suddenly a shot rang out.
He felt a hammer-like punch on his shoulder as blood gushed out and was pushed back by the force. But adrenaline was pumping and he regained his balance with the help of wolf soldiers behind him. He charged into the room towards the man who held the musket.
The man held up his musket in complete fear as he cried " I surrender, I surrender!"
His gut was slashed by Easthaven, the man keaved over. With a second stroke Easthaven beheaded him. He turned on the other rebel in the room who charged at him. Easthaven blocked a sword strike and tackled the man, using his own bigger body and taller stature to his advantage. Easthaven fell ontop of him, he couldn't get his sword up so he removed a dagger from his waist and began stabbing the man under him.
Another rebel jumped at him but was stopped by a sword thrusted through his back by a wolf soldier...
=========
The battle ended as a decisive victory for the Apolytonians. Prisoners were taken but the majority were killed.
Field Marshall Easthaven quickly sent a message to the Consuls informing them of the events, battles, and results.
