A messenger from Macedon entered the Egyptian palace. He told Ramses the Macedonian king proposed an alliance between Egypt and Macedon.
"Tell your king I accept his kind offer. We felt a bit threatened the last months, but my country will certainly benefit from this alliance! If you plan an invasion then my fleet will aid you.
As a sign of my friendship toward Macedon you can take these fine spices with you to Macedon. "

After the Macedonian messenger left with the spices, the king ordered to strengthen the fleet.
"We need a stronger fleet to protect our lands. Admiral, I order you to build a lot of new ships the coming months.
      "As you wish sire"

Carthage begins to increase the size of her army.

Also, Hannibal orders that his settlers move south on the border near Egypt rather than continuing east, and the same for those near the Straits of Gibraltar, as he wants to make Carthage almost the walls of a box around the desert of North Africa where he can expand at his own rate without interference.

Civman: Actually, in one of my earlist posts, I have began production of sea going vessals. Not only that, you don't need much of a navy to begin colonization off shores. Just that you have to use those 'fishing boats' as a ferrying service then :P I suggest the reality police keep an eye on whatever Civman proposes or says, because he has some sort of vandetta against me.

Alarich sat at the table, the cheifs once again all around him.
"Hello gentlemen, the Roman traders want nothing to do with us, they consider us barbaric."
Shouts replied to this, understandably the cheifs were offended.
"Give them war!" Percipus shouted, he was a huge hairy beast of a man.
"No, we must be calm and prove who the barbarians really are."Alarich said.
The cheifs had to agree with him.

Ummm... Skilord, the fact that I sent the messengerboy back to you to ask for what you want means I am still interested in trading.

oops.... at least i didn't go with Percipus.

"What do we have left to offer them?"
"uhhh furniture and longship plans." The trade advisor said, checking her sheet.
"offer them both see if the romans offer anything in exchange."
"But they wanted us to ask them for something first."
"I don't know what they have, do this instead."

                  Combat Results

The Legions have defeated the Gaullic army, and they are ready to hear terms. For all practical purposes, they have no army left (all divisions defeated).

Keeping an eye on the navy situation...I really didn't plan on officiating much naval action. Civman can have unique ships, just as the Romans have Legions, Macedons Hoplites, and a few people Elephants. I would encourage other nations to create a unique unit...I don't see it as seriously unbalancing, provided their's some rationale for why such a unit exists in your culture. Thoughts on this?

I'll probably do a Masillia post soon, I want to see what Sovy has planned first, though.

                    • oops, missed that sovy.

The seleucids and rhodes are invited and the egyptians are welcomed into the alliance. The alliance currently:
                      Syracuse
                      Carthage
                      Macedon
                      Egypt
                      Seleucids (invited)
                      Rhodes (invited).

More secret negotiations taking place, all nations in the alliance are openly advised to increase their navies...

                          • no morale...that's a nice advantage you can't have in the real game.
