And now for some more bad news.

There were approximately 7 units in Bonn. I figured we'd get it back later. There are a lot of undefended cities in Africa.

          1) Build a settler and numerous military units.

          3) They will declare war.

          4) Now we have a good starting point for an invasion that isn't as likely to flip as one of their cities. And, they start the war, not us.
Wait, I thought you couldn't build cities in other people's territory And the risk of things getting nuclear is serious...

          • guys...

i dont know if any of u knew this but u dont have to put tons of units into a city to stop it from flipping.

IF u go into the city and make more happy faces then content which makes a I love the king day it will never flip...

i do that on my campaigns shove liek 1 military unit in the city and then make all people inside it entertainers
Death will come one way or other, its only a matter of when i choose it.

            • but it would have to be size 6 to have WLKD...i guess we could build 4 settlers and make sure we build it on a river (no aqueduct hassles)

              • Nukes, schmukes, as long as we make sure the Iroquis are more damaged than us, I am comfortable with it.

                • Well, I never tried it, but I read it on here.

I forget who the poster was, but he said, yes, you can build cities in other players' territory. It is an act of war though. The AI will declare war on us and we possibly would take a diplomatic hit (like our rep is any good anyway). But, the AI does start the war.

                  Just a thought.

I've had all entertainer cities flip. It's not a guarentee.

                    • If you have four or more units in a city it won't flip. It was a change in the last patch.

I'm with Sovy...what's an occasional nuclear holocaust?

If a size six city is all entertainers...it won't be size six very long.

                      • I've also had more than 4 units in a city and it flipped. Bonn.

                        • ive had it flip also but the thing is.

When it does flip u can just take it right back then do it again.

The entertainers works better then the military crap.

and u have to have i believe.. 1 military unit for each resistor for it to work so screw that.

                          • I found the link for invading overseas! It was on Civ Fanatics.

INVADING OVERSEAS The Problem Typically when invading another island, my strategy involved taking over 5-6 boat loads of my best offensive and defensive units. I take over some city and use it as a base of operations. The trouble I was having was that the city very often flipped on me...

                            • Another strategy...

                              Sign ROP with Iriquois.

Station enough troops outside each city to take it in one turn.

After 20 turns, end ROP legally.

Iriquois say, "Get out of my territory." Civvers reply, "No, prepare for WAR."

North America turns orange on the mini-map.

                              No spaceship from Iriquois. Yay.

Rinse, lather, repeat. No civs will be scared of ROP with us since we didn't sneak attack while we had it.
