Dunk III wins the election on a platform of "Stockpiling for Future Use" and wins by 2 votes. A picnic is held in honor of the new Head Civver in Port Happy, Dunk III's birthplace.
1959... UN elections are called for. Dunk III decides against holding them for fear of, well, losing.
1960... Dunk III looks at all the pollution and says, "icky".
1961... Mao of the Chinese offers a unsurprisingly lop-sided trade... World Maps and they get Synthetic Fibers. Dunk III considers it, then simply says, "That's it, goodbye Mao."
1962... A technology called recycling is discovered. Now Civvers have to place green plastic bins full of "recyclables" on their curbs once a month for the recycle man to come by and get. Also, Global Warming causes a forest fire near Antioch.
1963... The city of Uraniumfish is founded near Purplebowl.
1964... The city of Bonn revolts and rejoins the German nation. Darn Krauts.
1965... Dunk III has a sandwich.
1966... A strange, bald-headed woman claiming to be Joan of Arc offers to trade World Maps with Dunk III... Dunk III rubs her head and says, "Ok."
1967... A peace treaty is signed with Greece. I mean, really, what's the point? Sri Lanka isn't worth the transport.
1968... Dunk III decides to produce several Recycling Plants across Civland. And there was much rejoicing. Yay. (pennants waving).
Notes...
We now have tons of modern armor. The Germans have them as well. I beleive we can soon overwhelm them in a single turn so that we don't have to worry about war-grumpiness.Attached Files

I'm worried about the Iroquis winning a cheap "space victory." Maybe we should move them up on our hit list and forget Germany for now. I don't see any huge advantage in crushing them...although that's never stopped us (or me, personally) before.

Good point about the Iriquois. I read a good strategy on here about invading overseas civs.
1) Build a settler and numerous military units.
2) Go found a city in their territory as a base and fill it with the military units.
3) They will declare war.
4) Now we have a good starting point for an invasion that isn't as likely to flip as one of their cities. And, they start the war, not us.
