The settings don't really matter to me because I haven't played enough to have a preference.

Maybe we should take a bigger world?

I vote for the next size after standard. Other than that the settings look fine. Let's get this game rolling!

I think instead of adding more people to this game, making a second game would be better.

Cu_tiger_2004 and tleilaxu, I'm afraid I can't put you in this game, but you could start one of your own, or I could put you on a waiting list.

Sorry for the delay all, I couldn't get into apolyton yesterday. I will start with one size larger than standard to give civs some breathing room.

Oh, one more slight rule adjustment. Instead of e-mailing the game, you can post it here, if you want to do that, but you don't have to.

The Reign of Xerxes I of Persia 4000-3050 BC

4000 - We started out surrounded by grassland and a few hills, and there was an ocean nearby, but we were not on the coast. We built our first city, named Persepolis. It starts building a warrior.

3950- Start research on Ceremonial Burial.

3900- Our worker enters a village, gets 25 gold.

3850- Our worker starts building roads around Persepolis.

3750- Warrior built in persepolis, it is used to explore. Another one is started.

3700 begins a period of exploring.

3500- our culture expands in Persepolis. Another warrior is built and fortified. Work started on a settler.

3450 begins again a quiet period of exploration. A river for fresh water is discovered, but is out of Persepolis's reach until culture expands again.

3150- the warrior finds a village, gets 25 gold.

3050- at the end of this turn, Xerxes I quits, and leadership is passed on to Xerxes II. (Aebbeka)

3000 BC - A new settler is built and sent to the northwest towards more fertile land. Production is switched to Warrior to build up our army and to allow Persepolis to grow.

2850 BC - Pasargadae is built along the coast with Game and Wheat within it's borders. A nearby warrior is protecting the city until it builds it's own defence.

2800 BC - The people love me and have upgraded my palace.

2670 BC - A road is completed connecting the two towns. Xerxes II has lost count and no longer knows how many turns he has played. "I'm going to have to wing it," he tells a reporter.

2630 BC - A warrior is build in Persepolis. Production changes to another settler. City size is now 2 and will be 3 when Settler is built.

2510 BC - Pasargadae builds a Warrior. It is fortified and yet another Aettler begins production.

2430 BC - We discover Ceremonial Burial and begin work on Pottery. One of our warriors enters a village and finds himself surrounded by three barbarians!

2390 BC - Our warrior single handedly kills all three barbarians without getting a scratch. In the process he became a Veteran, then Elite!

2350 BC - Xerxes II has been in control for "approximately" 20 turns. Xerxes MacTBone III takes over in his fathers footsteps.

After building two settlers and realizing the value of culture the new Emporer starts construction of a temole in each of the two cities. Then whil exploring contact is made with Zulus who end up trading techs for gold and one tech. Xerxes the Third decides that he got the bettter end of the deal. Only a couple of hundred years later contact is made with the Japanese who are already annoyed with the Persians but trade fairly and give Xerxes two more techs. During this time the two settlers have founded cities. On near the capital next to the coast with fish and a river delta (and the river) nearby along with being close to Incense. The other settler strikes out further and nestles into a valley between two mountains containing gold. The worker has completed a mine near the capital and built a road through the incense and almost to the new city near the capital. Warriors have been built in each of the new cities and they are now producing settlers. Plenty of room for expansion if the Japs don't get it first.

Now handing it off to Emporer Xeres the Fourth (maybe a King by the end )
