Is it okay for you? I suggest that your task
includes following the discussions on the IG UK forum,
and if necessary, post on the behalf of The BTC there.
But it should be related to the idea of this movement.
I'm very honoured at the thought of being the BTC's envoy but I would feel a bit of a fraud as
    (a) I wouldn't buy the BTE anyway (cookies never last long enough near me to warrant a tin )
    (b) I think the Infogrames UK forum admin is sympathetic to our cause but in the end can only trot out the company line.

However I will be happy to report back any info posted there and make comments as the mood takes me.

So how about spy rather than envoy ? or
Hoping that 4 is closer to 2 than 3

hi, I don't know how many Civers are in France where I belong but I do think that Infogrames or Firaxis or whoever should make a real effort to bring us as fast as possible the last release of Civ III LE or normal ed who cares? Ain't we chasing for collectors' items or dying to play the last version of the most interesting and intellent game we had ever met? Infogrames, listen our SHOUTING calls, we want Civ III NOW!

Well, you're probably right. But that's not the only
reason why I avoid the IG's forums. Why would I support
them by using their forums, if they ban the LE?
However I will be happy to report back any info posted there and make comments as the mood takes me.
I'm pleased to hear that, because I really don't
have time for being everywhere at the same time,
and the upcoming BTC website takes also time.
        So let's say it's agreed.
So how about spy rather than envoy ?
Okay, let's give you this title and task:
BTC's Infogrames UK Forums spy. Is it ok?

I have contributed this to the Infogrames Forums:

I am a hardcore Civ fan from Denmark, who has been awaiting Civ3 for months now. Incidentally, I am from Apolyton, too. And though it is frustrating to know that my fellow civers in the US and Canada are playing the game now, there's not much I can do about it. I can accept that.

What I cannot accept is the fact that it will be impossible to buy the LE in my country. I thought that Infogrames are as interested in making money, as the next company. Apparently I was wrong. Why Infogrames would exclude more than 50% of the potential market from buying this product, I do not understand. Even more horrific is the fact, that Infogrames has also forbidden Amazon, EB and other Internet retailers from shipping this product outside US and Canada.

I strongly urge Infogrames to change their policies regarding this.

Other than that, I guess I can wait two weeks more. I have ordered the games (not the LE) from Amazon, and will hopefully be playing Civ3 by Nov. 22. I know I will enjoy that. What I do not enjoy is thinking about the fact, that in the eyes of Infogrames, my money and my oppinions count less, than the money and oppinions of civers in North America.

Now I hope they take us seriously.

Good to see some new faces. Would you like
to take part in an active way or do you want to
            be a "moral supporter"?

I have a copy of LE I can sell. It cost me $64 US, which what I can get back with a return. If anyone is interested send me a PM. I'll decide by next Thursday.

Of couse, you should probably wonder why I'm so eager to unload this game.

Well done! It's good that you too have posted at IG UK Forums,
because I don't have time to dicuss everywhere currently.
Would you like to take a certain task to do in the BTC?
Now I hope they take us seriously.
I hope that too. But we'll have to post more postings
for achieving the goal. How bad that even sounds,
it's a matter of fact (IMO).

Thanks for your offer, but it won't help us to
get LE to all who want it. Sorry.

I probably wouldn't buy the BT but I know a lot of people here who would so I'm in!

Amazon has just informed me that the Biscuit Tin is now on its way to the green and pleasant England. I don't know if this is because I ordered before the International ban....

                              Hi Rasbelin,
I already sent e-mails to Firaxis and to Infogrames France. Firaxis never answered, Infogrames sent back a silly mail asking me to check the schedule for the release of new games for November...as one can guess no Civ is present for the near future. This morning, I posted on the general forum of Infogrames UK a shout for a fast release. What can I do ?
I planned to buy it in Finland where I shall travel next May....but it's a long time to wait for...

Hmm, I have received a notice from Amazon that my LE has been shipped on November 1st, and should arrive between November 8th-15th; I'm in Finland too, so perhaps also you will be receiving it, Rasbelin? On the product page of the LE it says the item can be shipped only within US - _currently_. I ordered and pre-paid the LE a month ago, way before the ban, so perhaps that is the reason?
