Victory Point locations
So how do you hold on to them? have them in your cultural boders, city squares or just put a dude on them (like a warrior). Can you build improvement on them? Otherwise I'd build a bunker, suround it by more bunkers and outposts and fill it with mech inf and artillery. Only a nuke will get through, and you know what THAT means...
From the second Play the World preview on Gamespot:
"In one strategy, at the moment you would begin a real-time attack against an opponent in turnless mode, you can distract the opponent by continually asking for a diplomatic meeting, which pops up a dialogue box, and the opponent must decline the invitation each time. Of course, nations do just this in the real world, attempting to flood diplomatic channels to tie up the nation's government."
Sounds really annoying to me. Basically you have to close a flutter of windows every time you get attacked?

hey, does anyone know what's special about "european terrain"? except the different aluminium-icon it looked fairly the same...
It's not just aluminium, all the resources have spiffed-up icons. Plus, the European terrain IS different from the original terrain, the water looks 1000x better, plus the map just generally has a richer, more subdued aesthetic to it. I'm definently going to only play with the new European terrain set when I install PTW.

I find it too dark and bland, but it might be good for WW2 scenario (but I am not unbiased). The resource icons are in all PTW tile sets.
I know which tile set I'll be using
yeah, it's really dark and sad. is that how americans see europe?
my favorites (for normal games) are snoopy's and maybe the watercolor one...
- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity
- Atheism is a nonprophet organization.
I'm hoping the artist was gearing it for WW2 scenarios, my trips to Europe weren't dark (well, except for the inside of pubs ) and most definitely weren't bland.

Did you go to Scotland?
Seriously, I loved Scotland, but it was quite foggy in the late afternoon.
Looking forward to that watercolor scheme, Warpstorm.
