  • A few requests-mostly graphic ones...

id like to see more graphic improvements like:
-new terrain/city/resource format that would support animation.
-more city animations like the ones we have now ( smoke when there in disorder, and firework when ppl happy..)
    -more unit/cities/resource graphic packs...
-maybe a unit creation tool that will let us to define/create new units from scratch..
-more more more eye candy!!! (for examp-" Disciples II" ).
-having the king unit (that is planed to be in multiply) in singleplay would be nice to!
-airplane ideal animation-please make them move up and down a bit like they are actually floating in the air above the city!
    -spy unit-please please please.......

other things i would like to see are:
privateers are kinda worthless in the current format so maybe adding more options will make them much more interesting and worthy to build:
-attack harbor (in cities that has harbors)-if attack success ill earn x amount of gold/resources/ship,and if attack fails ill loose my ship or get x amount of damage.
-when attacking ship ill take loot of gold/resources or even take over on that ship.
-smuggle resource/gold/units-the option to create a black market trade network with privateers, some of the corruption exists in other civs will be due this privateer activity.
if a privateer harbors in other civ's city with marketplace, it would have the option of "smuggle" if succeed ill get x amount of gold/resource/units
if failed ill loose the ship+x amount of gold/resource/unit.

misc things that would be nice to have-
a "take note" option- i would love to have the option to pop up a note on the screen while playing , and when loading save game i will be able to go straight to business after reading my thoughts/strategies on that note.
-trade units for other units or for gold/resource!

I would make graphics the LAST priority for stuff to put in PtW. Gameplay 1st!!

It was mentioned somewhere (I think in one of the many E3 reports) that all of the multiplayer features will be available for single player as well. So if you want to play regicide SP, you will be able to.

        Very simple -

Improved victory screens in place of dull pop-ups (ie. UN vote victory).

Perhaps more than one different victory screen (or defeat screen) per victory type (randomly selected).

            Hmmm,

Graphics, ho-hum, not really important-they're already GREAT!!!
New privateer options: yes, yes, YES!!!! In principle.

            1) I like your idea of attacking harbours, you should be able to get either gold or access to a specific resource/luxury for X turns (value of X would be in the editor!), causing the civ that owned the resource to lose it for the same amount of time!

            2) Defintitely, if you "destroy" an enemy ship with a privateer, you should have an option to capture it (with 1hp remaining) or obtain a cash "reward"!

            3) I like this idea, but it should also be a way of getting round embargoes! You just indicate what resource you're smuggling, go to an allies city (with or without a harbour) and drop off your goods. Privateers would have to be an invisible unit (like subs) for this to TRULY be effective.

Option 1) could work in the same way as spies did in CivII-i.e. you move into an "enemy" coastal city and either 1) Be told the city has no harbour! 2) Be told you were successful, in which case you get cash or resource/luxury. 3) You succeed, but suffer damage 4) You fail and suffer damage or 5) Your vessel is sunk!! The chance of success, and the amount of damage in the case of failure, would be dependant on the number and Attack strengths of enemy naval units!
Anyway, I hope M_M_X doesn't mind me expounding on his original, excellent idea!

            Yours,
            The_Aussie_Lurker.

Why are you requesting graphics from Firaxis when there are plenty of creative folks both here and at CivFanatics, some of whom would be happy to create units, city screens, animations, buildings, or anything else you need?

Why do people come on this thread and complain about people making their wishes known ?

because my wishes are more important than his/hers

I like having more eye candy, but it's not my priority. But the "take note" idea is great !

                      Spaceship

While your at it, doesn't it say "USA" on the side of that spaceship ?

Kinda odd, especially if the Americans were destroyed many years ago.
