  • Types of Scenarios

Assuming that the editor in June and the "enhancements" is PTW will create the ability to make and play DECENT scenarios, what kind of scenarios will you be making and playing when the ability comes out.

What exactly would you do, sit around with your finger over the big red button?
      -WW II Pacific Theatre
As I see it, the WWII senarioes Firaxis promised will proboly be two maps, Europe & America, & Pacific & America, so no need to make it unless you want to play it single player.

My favorite civ3 scenario: Death and Ressurection of an Empire. That could be even better in civ3 !

          Scenarios I'd like to see:

WWI, or anything worldwide from 1870-1918
Colonization, if such a scenario is possible in Civ3
          Falklands
          Mexican-American War
          Spanish-American War
          Russo-Japanese War (1904)
          Crimean War
          Conquest/Colonization of Africa
Prussia's wars with Austria and France, on the eve of German unification
          I hate oral!!

oh come now Darkworld, you know those Civ2 Cold War Scenarios were some of the best, think how much cooler they will be with Civ 3's MAD system?

Those are some really good choices by the way Miznia

These are scenarios I might want to play...

              - Colonization

              - Napoleonic wars

              - WWI

              - WWII Europe
              - WWII Pacific

              - WWIII (sure it hasn't happened, but it would be interesting to see some speculation as to how and when)

              - Post-apocalyptic (with a combination of new civs formed after nuclear war, and remnants of old civs looking to restore their power)

I have been daydreaming about creating a cold war scenario starting in 1917.

A scenario I want to play/make is, besides the ones that have already been mentioned:

                  - Punic Wars (I have always been fascinated by this war for some reason)
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

Oh yeah definitely the Punic Wars. I'd like to use Carthage and kick Rome's a$$!!!

I'd also like to see one based on Alexander the Great.

Wouldnt mind a Middle East Mesopotamia/ Egypt scenario.

THe "cradle of civilization" areas, with all the units and that kind of stuff.

The Persian Wars (greece) or the Peloponesian War.

                      The conquest of peru.

                      The hundred years war

Maybe a trade/ colonization mod based on trading not war.
                      i am the great one:)

You people seem convinced that Firaxis' definition of Scenario is more than a regular 4000BC 'altered startup'. I'm Not.

Who mentioned that Firaxis will be making any of these scenarios? You do know that it is possible for other people besides Firaxis to make scenarios don't you, as long as Firaxis releases a complete scenario editor?

Btw, by the context of Jeff's comments it doesn't seem like Firaxis will be making any 'real' scenarios, however, by his same comments it does seem like we will be given the tools to make 'real' scenarios. I hope I'm wrong on the first part and right on the second part, but only time will be able to tell.
