  • But witch civs would you WANT?

So far there's only been a discussion on witch civs, leaders and special units you've THOUGHT would appear in the expension, not which ones you'd WANT. Here's what I'd want:

Arabs or Turks; leader and special unit: don't know
Incas or Mayans; leader and special unit: don't know
    Carthagenians; Hannibal; some elephant unit
Spanish; Isabella (need another female leader); conquistador
Mongols; Genghis Kahn or Kublai Kahn (not sure anout the spelling); mounted archer

Also, I hope Firaxis will include a world map with fixed starting locations, and some cool scenarios such as WWII on a world map.

I'm more for exotic and unusual civs...

    Kilwans/The Afro-Shirazi/Swahili
    Polynesians
    Inuit
    The Celts
    The Uralians/Finno-Ugric Peoples
    The Phoenicians
    The Incans
    And I suppose The Mongols

inuit would be brilliant if there was some way for them to be best, or just good, in tundra, a civ specific abitily or a special worker, that could inprove tundra.
      it would be good though
      Just my 2p.
Which is more than a 2 cents, about one cent more.
Which shows you learn something every day.

        Give me the Jewish!

And also, I'd like Mayans, too.

          Good idea

Otherwise I think the civs I'd like to see is:

          Mongols
          Incas
          Mayas
          Polynesians
          Australia

But I have no clue about the leaders (except for Ghenis Kahn (Sp?)) and speciel UU's!
This space is empty... or is it?

If I get to pick the 8 civs (still a possibility):

            1. Spanish
            2. Incas
            3. Arabs
            4. Koreans
            5. Mali
            (and three blank slots)

If I hated all of you it would be:
American: Americans Iroquois Aztecs SIOUX CUBANS
Europe: English French Germans Russians SWEDES
            Medit: Romans Greeks Egyptians BERBERS
Mideast: Babylonians Persians Zulus ETHIOPIANS ISRAELIS
Asia: Chinese Japanese Indians KAZAKHS AUSTRALIANS

And there would be a mysterious Pong-themed civ.

Well I'd want Scotland, but then again guess why...
Can't believe we didn't make into the original game. Where would Mel Gibson be without William Wallace?

Israel, another African nation and Spain would get my vote too.

And Scotland's UU would be the Highlander that can die several times....

The Berbers are the indigenous population of the Maghreb (northwest Africa).

Although most people would think they wouldn't belong in civ since they are too small or "young", I'd like to have many present european civs (scotland, spain, italy, ireland and so on) and other civs I know about (australia for example).

The reason is this: I want civs I know something about, and care for in some way. There are a lot of civs suggested here that I don't know anything about of have any reference to, and those civs aren't very fun to play (IMO). And I prefer 'fun' before 'politically and historically correct', I mean, it's just a game, and it's supposed to be fun...

Again, I am not suggesting this is a very good idea for Firaxis to do, I'm just answering to this thread's topic.

                        Well said, Cesa.

                        I'd want:

                        1. Byzantium
                        2. Ukraine
                        3. Celts (I'd rather have them than Spain even, really. Spain is in practically every strategy game. I have no interest in playing them again)
                        4. Huns/Barbarian Civ. Free Military, but you can't research any technology (can only trade for it). A raider unit would be good too. Less attack than Knight, but can be made in half the time.

Also, as someone said in another thread, Switzerland would be cool too. Instead of a Unique Unit, the could have a Unique Building: Mountain Fortress, the doubles defensive strength. Or, they could have the ability to build cities on mountains. And a new resource: Knifes, that only they can see

How about a precision archer (3.1.1) for the Swiss? And a free bank in every city...

I don't want a witch civ. I mean, what is this, Harry Potter? Maybe in the second XP.

I would like to see a polynesian civ. or australian, something that could expand out from the south pacific. I would also like to see something from S. America, either Inca or Brazil or Argentina or something like that. And maybe the Kmer or the Vietcong from SE Asia. Mongols, Arabians, Vikings, Scots etc. yes
