These settings are great! I have to say that being eliminated before being able to complete a single unit has to be a new low for me, but looking at the bright side, empire management seems to be very easy now.

I don't think it has anything to do with you as I don't have any units in my cities either. We should have included some Warriors for city defense if we are going to give everyone a 2 tile movement Hidden Nationality unit.

I didn't have a choice, he was in striking range of both my cities and both my workers, it was either take him or lose half my civ.
If I lost half my civ you would have had double my production and resources and I would have been overpowered eventually. So I decided to take a chance, if I lost Conquests was around the corner so no big deal.
What happened to the Romans? I thought you can only ransack a city with hidden units, but not take it? Do I have this wrong? If so, the setup with fast hidden units, but without defenders was really stupid.
