It's not a scenario thing. You have to make sure what's enabled or disabled when you set up the game.

            ok, my error then

            thanks Sir Ralph

sometimes when a scenario is set up, all off the settings are programmed at this time

I see my error in this

as to the settings I stated earlier, well they would have been from the last game I had started then

ahh well we have all the ones Modo requested now

When did Wonder Victories become standard? And how do you win one?

Build all wonders, 29 of them. Pretty simple, actually. And quite impossible in an epic game. But hey - maybe someone will pull it anyway. It's more of a joke, except in a conquest scenario, so don't worry.

Wouldn't be when all wonders are built? As in, it doesn't need to be any one particular civ to build them all? Still probably not a major issue, but nonetheless.

It adds a sudden death mode to the end game, yes. But it will hardly make any difference by then, methinks. Anyway, happy civing everyone.

Actually, I consider only Space and Conquest to be standard victory conditions. I detest Domination, and consider Wonder to be ... meaningless, i suppose. Cultural I'm not a fan of either, but it never happens unless you're playing AU504 or whatever.

Diplo, now, that's a crappy victory condition, though. In PBEM, i'm not sure i've ever seen it, especially how it is hard to get that far in the game ... but have you ever tried in a sufficiently hard SP game? I've never managed to keep the AIs happy enough. I've always broken at least *some* minor agreement, often because the AI is cheating anyways (budging onto my territory and refusing to leave, breaking trade deals, etc.) and that automatically means I have to nuke the city with UN as soon as it's built

Anyways, I don't care about the restart (and in fact am probably the sole proponent of AP in 'Poly, as I think it makes the game move faster, which is always a good thing in this slow PBEM world) and don't really care about victory conditions (only one that is even theoretically possible is domination, and if you're that much ahead, congrats ...

And since it's the same map as before, i'm not going to argue with the majority

And Modo, I suggest you be player #1 next time, so you can make sure things are to your specifications, since miscommunications happen very easily. The barb wandering setting is easy for us to set, and not trusting us to set it properly I find sort of insulting ... It's a lot more important to get all of the overall settings right and trust one of us to get one setting correct.

Ok, now, why am I in a different place than when i started the first game? Completely different terrain?

I mean, i guess I don't care horribly, but ... if it was a premade map with specific settling spots, shouldn't I be in the original spot?

Um - that SHOULD be the case.

You want to choose the settings - go ahead and start another PBEM yourself. :hint:
                              Modo - one word ....mellow.

I am sure something got lost in the translation here. Let's get this game back on track - it has a lot of interest - and what bothers me most is that my great pic of the Warrior Princess Makahlua has been lost in all this kerfuffle. (and that is the proper way to spell kerfuffle - look it up in Oxford. )
