Yeh, but you could make a good argument for having had well over 1000 years of dominance (until the next civ comes along, Babylon, in like 2500 or so if I recall).

And about my eclipsing: I'd like to know how many of the Founding Fathers wanted to emulate the Byzantines.

Looks like the game is almost out of the 'growing' stage ... not many more places for my poor settlers to go ... taking cruddy islands on the hope they have uranium in their one hills square now
