  • Early and Often

Just left an interesting game and feel like starting another. Looking for 4 players total on a small map so turns can be quick and the action starts early

    Any takers?

Snoopy369 has joined. We are full.

Questions: should we upgrade to 1.22?
        What is the correct order?

I can play early in NY time. Around 7am.

Snoopy suggests he is a night owl and plays after 6pm to midnight.

(Whoever goes last should review the bugs that let the last player get an unfair advantage.)

I also can probably play one turn in the AM my time (like right about now

If I'm not wrong didn't they get rid of that bug in 1.2 slash 1.22? (the last player up bug)

Eagerly awaiting the turns from my second ever PBEM game ...

            Oh yeah, turn order:
From what I see of when people are posting I'd suggest a turn order that was some variant of:
            Turn 1:
            Jshelr (7am EDT)
            Snoopy369 (9pm EDT or 7:15am EDT)
            Soltz (10pm EDT)
            MFCamillus (11pm EDT)

            Turn 2:
            Jshelr (7am EDT)
            Snoopy369 (7:15 am EDT)
            (Big pause)
            Soltz (10pm EDT)
            MFCamillus (11pm EDT)
            (big pause)

            etc.
OTOH, if you (Jshelr) can check it at least once during the night we might be able to do several turns a day at this rotation (or if the other two of you can check during the AM of course) ... I can do precisely one turn in the AM, as I get up at 6am CDT and leave for work at 6:45am CDT, with a shower and whatnot thrown in there. Other question I suppose is, when the turns get longer, if we're relying on me to do a turn in the AM I may have to get up earlier (which is fine), but for a 30 minute turn I'll need it promptly at 7am EDT (6am CDT). Does that mean I should go before you jshelr (or last)?? Better that the pacific coast league go last from a night point of view, but ...

Good morning Snoopy369. Maybe, if I put you last in the initial order, you can typically have the turn from the late-night guys ready to go when you get up.

I'm not in a hurry in the morning as I play afer putting out an early newletter at some point around 7.30am or 8am. So, if I'm first in the initial order, I'll evolve into going after you. That makes the setup about what you proposed but it makes sure you get the turn as soon as possible in the morning.

Snoopy369's proposal should work for me. My normal playing time during the week is 9-11pm EDT and then a breif window prior to work about 8am EDT.

I'll start a 1.22 patch game. It may take some time for everyone to patch, but it probably makes sense to do so anyway.

I'll put Soltz 3d since he is way out in the great people's republic of BC.

Launched and sent to MFCamillus. Need an email for Soltz. posting file here and will explain settings shortly.

Everybody has a fearsome UU and there should be no really lucky hut breaks. The settings are designed to be fair, yet tough. The Iroquois are happy with the start for a change and wish all a good game.

The Persians have founded their first city and it's now the turn of the Ottomans.

                          Let the head-bashing begin!!!

There shall be no head-bashing unless my Sultan commands it. Well, or at least until we find each other.

The Ottomans have founded their capital and are now prepared to develop their letters, and perhaps even their numbers. That is only the beginning to a great Muslim state that shall rule the world. Well, at least a large chunk of it.

posted and sent. A little later than usual because of an early plane flight today. I'm impressed. No whining about the start

BTW, the reason I post the file here and edit it out later is that email only gets through about 95% of the time. When you figure how few rounds we can play before something goes wrong, the post really keeps things rolling.
