MFC emailed me on the 13th to say some unexpected RL issues had popped up that may slow down his responses for the next week or so.....sorry, I thought he'd contacted everyone. So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste

To smellymummy
I suspect I may be slowing this game down a little. Sorry, this is my only remaining 1.15b game and it's a right pain in the rear end to exit 1.22 and reload 1.15 from an external drive (which then annoyingly slows my laptop down to a crawl), so it's usually the last game I'll check each day.So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste

all you need to do is copy and paste the conquests.exe, conquests.biq and the text/ directory over the existing ones ...
what I do is keep two seperate directories within my
civ3/conquests
i have v1.15/ and v1.22/
i copied the 2 files and 1 directory listed above appropriate for each version in the right directories
then its just a matter of copy and pasting for the game you'll play
I still do have to exit and restart civ3 though, which is probably the task that takes longest

sounds good to me
yes smelly, I'm set up the same way except my 1.15 is on an external drive to save space, which probably takes a little longer.....but the greatest time delay is existing one and loading the other, not to mention what continual exiting and re-loading does to my overall computer speed for some reasonSo if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste

okay so you have the best setup then
same thing here, when loading or exiting civ3, most other programs running don't 'visually' respond for a little bit, although they do keep performing (such as a download for example)
its kind of anoying when finishing a turn with this pbem, i exit civ3 and rush to my email, only to wait till things clear
