  • My god, what happened??!!

I almost never come in here, and clicked it by mistake... when did the PBEM forum become the most active in Civ 'poly?

Theseus! Welcome! If you hurry you can get in Paddy's latest game.

For the scoop on that - and the latest on who is playing what - check out the census thread:

Good to see you around. And yes - PBEM is alive and well and living in this forum.

Why ... are you implying malfeasance, Ghengis? I mean, arnelos would have my head (and several other anatomical items) if I didn't post upon sending each of my 20 turns daily ... so it's not my fault i've hit King after about 4 months ...

Yes Theseus -- join in on the fun! I'm sure Paddy can rope you in easily.

        Ghengis: Nice Pic!!

Ya know, this is kinda ridiculous: I've been posting far and wide that I wanna get into PBEMs and then sim-MP, both here and at C3P Ladders... and I've actually only played like one or two turns all week!!

I feel like Connor Macleod: "No one will fight me... they all run away!"

I would recommend getting into more than just two PBEMs. If you have 5 or 6 running then there will usually be at least one turn in a few games each night...unless you're in most of your PBEMs with someone who goes out of town for the weekend.

Ok Theseus. Here's the new game to keep you busy, The true Clash of Titans. 8 civ, 4 player game. Your civs play back-to-back so it plays like a true 4 player game - but you are running two civs. We will get SR to set it up again - just to mix it up. You, me . Rhoth , and ....Paddy?

Any restrictions we want to set on civs. I think we randomly set a first thru fourth choice, and go 1-4 and then 4-1 to pick the civs.

              Rhoth? Paddy?

I'm up for it. I haven't played a two-civ per player game before but it sounds interesting.

I'd say we ought to figure out what type of map we are doing and then decide on civ restrictions from there (i.e. I don't want to pick two seafaring civs if we're playing a pangaea, etc.)

                  T is for THESEUS.

                  Let's get it ON!!

sounds a good way of going about it

personally I do like Huge maps, with selected civs

I am happy to go with the pack, and looking forward to a great game...

Rhoth, Theseus, I am sure you will both enjoy this style of game... lots of civs, yet it moves along at a good clip with only the four players... can lead to some interesting split personality issues

OK - I will jump on this later today. It seems our choices are:

                        1. archipelago start
                        2. continents - with four on each continent (your civs are split). This would require someone to set it up.
                        3. Pagaea - and go with a large map as Paddy has suggested. I suspect someone will still get an island start out of this - so we say - them's the breaks, or get someone to set it up.

I vote for #3 with a 'them's the breaks' attitude to the initial set up.

And the name of this game:

                          1. Clash of Titans
                          2. Split Personality

#2 and #3 are both fine with me. I'd rather have someone set up the game anyhow. I'm still wary of random starts where my capital ends up 4 tiles from your capital.

As to the name...Split Personality works.
