Even though con obviously hacked my system in order to copy my list off the sheet of paper on my desk, we have a good variety of tribes to pick from. I'll post the final list with everyone's picks in a little while
I just tried generating a Y wrap map and deleting the start locations. A few problems: It doesn't just allow travel across the top and bottom borders, it generates land across that border. This might not be that bad, but the map I generated didn't come close to looking like a pangea, more like an archipelago actually.
The bigger problem is that it seems to have reassigned starting locations upon saving. I started a few SP games on it with different seafaring tribes and they all started at the same land-locked location.
I'll see if anyone in the mod forum has an idea if this can work, but I don't know if it's worth holding off on this game until we find out...

Rank all the Tribes in the pool, not including any of your own nominations, from one on up, starting with the most preferred.
The first unique request for a tribe gets it. For example, if two players pick England #1 , and another picks them #2, the player that ranked them second would be 'awarded' the Brits.
This one is more important to keep secret. I'll send my picks to Kloreep (the first respondant in this thread) before asking for anyone else's. Please make up your lists, but don't PM them until I've sent mine (sometime tonight...).
Just to make sure we're clear on the issue, I'll start the game on a randomly generated, unmodded Pangea as discussed earlier. Everyone has until the end of their first turn (4000BC) to call for a restart, except for anyone with an agricultural Civ. Once you call for a restart, you must play what you get from then on.
This is the set up I was suggesting before I tried to do the Y wrapping mod. If this was not understood and affects anyone's choices, speak up before sending me your final picks.
Oh, and please post your likely availability times so's we can make a turn sequence...

One question -- once someone's got their choice, are the rest of their choices thrown out? That would i suppose be very different from if they're still in ...
IE, if Conmcb has Mongols (1) and thus gets mongols because every sane person has them at 9, does his having Dutch (2) affect my ability to get Dutch at 2 if I have it ranked there as well (and nobody else does)?
