  • Just popped in to see how this game is going. How are those taxmen treating you - anybody have positive cashflow AND research capacity yet?

Our Jane game is almost terminally slow.
So if you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste

    • This game is not going much better. Hopefully it will go a bit faster when Krill returns.

As for the taxmen, I think it's safe to say that nobody has achieved a 4-turn research rate yet.

Sir Ralph's concerns about not settling on hills might have been well-founded.

What were the concerns? That we would be too limited in our city placement options?

Yes, basically that the terrain decides where cities go, instead of the player deciding. No big deal, especially since the map is supposed to be somewhat balanced. It's just strange when you are used to stock rules.

I have enough trouble dealing with these taxes, I'm glad I don't have to figure out that much about civil engineering...
