Good stuff though. I will use your proposed order - with me, you, and alex at the start.

I'm afraid the timing plan, like the old military maxim of a plan only being in tact until contact with the enemy, may be in tatters after two turns. But the premise is sound, and if we get in a groove, it may proceed fairly well.

May I also suggest that we send our passwords, along with the admin password, to a third (I guess eighth) party just in case.

It would be nice to have some sort of sealed envelope set-up here at Poly for this kind of thing.

wow nice, an MIT alum ... U of Chicago here. Now we just need Harvard, Yale, and Oxford and we should be set.

Just wish U of Chicago gave us real alumni e-mail accounts. They cut us off 3 months after graduating and just give us some cruddy forwarding e-mail addy that doesn't really work very well ...

And I have sent the first save to snoopy, but I think I may have screwed it up already. I set up the game late last night - and did it under 1.15. If snoopy can play in 1.22 and keep it going - then no problems. But we may need to restart.

alexman - the settings were all random - so I have no idea what kind of map we are looking at. The best way IMHO.

Yeh, that was the next one out of my mouth. Actually I'd have no idea if it were oxford's peer or a community college, I'm not well versed on Canadian schools ... just don't get as much out of a liberal education as you used to.

Ok - had to restart using 1.22 First turn to snoopy.

(And $$%%@#@!!!X$#!!!. My start in the 1.15 version was on a river, with ivory AND bonus food in the first city radius. )

You got my timezone wrong. I think I forgot to update it since I moved back from Arizona several months ago, sorry. I'm now GMT-4, having been in the Washington, D.C. metro area since the end of December.

Well, I'm about 95% sure that I know what the randomized starting conditions for this map ended up being.

If that's what I think I see off to the side of my start area, I'm rather screwed.

Then again, I sorta like playing screwed over starting positions and trying to make the best of them (I introduce to the jury Exhibition A: ISDG FAM PBEM #4....), so don't worry about me.
