  • Does anyone KNOW anything bout Civ III?

Wow, that topic looks mean-spirited But I am just another Civ Junkie lookin' for a fix. I see lots of speculation and debate on this site concerning what may be in Civ III and what civers want in the game, but little about what the actuall conscept(s) of the game will be and how it shall differ from Civ II, ToT, et al. Oh, and what about the "Sweep of time Trilogy". Am I safe in assuming that will consist of Dinos, Civ III and SMAC II? (how {if} Dinos will relate to Civ III, i dunno, perhaps your starting location in Civ III will be where you last Dino croaked before extinction)

Well, Sandwich. There's only one thing I can tell you: Check out the thread "Related Threads" at the top of this list.

We know they're doing a new graphics engine.

We know that they are called firaxis.

We know that it is the sequel to civ2.

Having a look at Sid's letter from about 9 months ago wouldn't hurt your knowledge. Sorry, I don't have the link, but if that other link page is any good, it'll be on there.

I bet even Firaxis doesn't know anything about Civ3, because everything is kept so confidential!

edit: The thread that MKL referred to is at: MESSAGE FROM SID! (yes!), and the original post by sid is at http://apolyton.net/news/000323sid.shtml

No, in Australia we don't live with kangaroos and koalas in our backyards... Despite any stupid advertisments you may see to the contrary... (And no, koalas don't usually speak!)

I think the game "Dinosaurs" will croak just like the subjects of that game did millions of years ago.

                History repeats itself again.

                Haven't been here for ages....

Talk about a tale of two games: I have been eating up the snippetts reguarding the upcoming game Master of Orion III (also a Microprose/Hasbro game, I might add) the development team releases something every few weeks, although the game is scheduled to be released later than civ III (early 2002, MoO3 that is)and Firaxis keeps the info hush hush. I don't know which is better... but the Quicksilver team (developers of MoO3) sure have my attention... (hint, hint) I practically have the $$$$ set a side to buy it (nudge, nudge)...
