BTW, I feel so inferior. When I post at CFC, I don't feel as bad with my number of posts there.

Zarn, I feel the same way. This 'settler' rating just doesn't feel right when I have an 'emperor' title over there.

But anyways... I like Conquest, but mopping up the last couple of cities that the last civ has gets tiring, so I'll just go ahead and trigger domination.

Or I'll just let them live and be my puppet civ for a few hundred years. I just love having someone like Catherine be all furious at me and there isn't anything she can do about it. .

Only finished 1 game up 'till now. By conquest btw.

        Usually I win by forfeit

Yah, Bamspeedy. 1000+ posts at CFC means nothing at apolyton. The only time that I forced Catherine into a one city state, was before the first patch. I had her landlockes and everything. She completely depended on me. Other civs declared war on her, though.

            Spaceship.

With the large maps I use, conquest gets very tedious.

              Welcome CFCers!!

Sorry for your (temporary) loss, but I'd love to see you guys here more often.

              More cross-fertilization...

Anyway, a more serious answer than before:

              1) Haven't achieved a cultural victory yet.

              2) One conquest victory... tedious.

              3) Domination pretty often.

              4) Spaceship has been my win type lately... learning to love the late game.

              5) Diplo, what a let down. I've been turning it off mostly.

              6) OCC, soon to come (probably the only diplo win I respect).

I still stop some games midway through, when I know it's my game. I sorta think of it as being similar to Carver's Quick Challenge... how well do I think I ran the game up to that point?

Another interesting question: How do you lose??
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

Usually SS but often domination. Never have won by culture, conquest or score.

I really hated the diplomatic victory at first, but I'm coming around to a new opinion. It's great because it saves you the hastle of playing the boring and poorly conceived modern era.

the diplo victory may be quick & easy but I've chosen to disable it as it's just so tackily implemented.

When I tried out the jump from Emperor to diety, I was obliterated by a coaltion of Rome, Persia, and Iroqouis (yeesh!). I ended up with one city on a pathetic island, so I gave up. Only time I was ever thoroughly thrashed.

I do agree diplo could be better... but oh well.

Space Ship is the one I usually end up doing, just because it's pretty easy. However, when I'm looking to have a bit more fun, I disable all victory types except Conquest and Domination and slug it out. I *always* disable Diplomacy- it's got to be the stupidest, most infuriating victory type there is. You're cruising along, or perhaps in the middle of an epic war, or two turns away from completing the last SS component, then bang! Game over. Ugh.

I usually win by Conquest, Domination, and Spaceship all in the same game by 2049 AD (I mean if you load my 2049AD savegame, you have multiple options: you can either launch the spaceship, destroy the last AI city, build another city, build the UN, or do nothing and win by Culture). Cultural and Diplomatic victory does require more works and a lot of time, I'm too lazy for it.

I just had a domination before I wanted it, so from now on only Conquest.
