Confused about Military Academy. I can't create an army after I built it.

Not really! If he made the mistake and built the Military Academy far away from his core production cities, he could always disband that city, let his enemy conquer it, or give it to the AI which would destroy his Military Academy. Now, he can rebuild his Military Academy in his core cities.

So he disbands the city or gives it away then starts all over again.

If thats not stuffed its certainly a GLM, Game Limiting Move.

As a side thought do you get any culture for the Academy? in fact do any Small wonders give you culture or are they utilitarian in nature?

If so i'd just leave it and use 'convetional' massed single unit attacks

If you think the Army takes to long to build just use a Leader to rush it.

Aha, I was trying to create an army from the city build que... How simple it all seems now. It never occured to me to look for an order button. Wow, my first army, and I got to build the here epic, and I stacked 3 elite legionarys on a hill and had these pretty green greek armored horsies pound it into the ground

(What were those things, Knights, Cavarly?)

I'm not bitter though cause once again Apolyton has helped a ton! Now, what can I do with the elite than created the leader? I named him something and he has an asterik by his name. Once I use the leader can he spawn another leader? Seems like I read that I would have to upgrade him, which lower his rank and lets him respawn again. Is that correct?

Man, I had so many elites splayed about the field of battle (and enough cities for at least 2 armies) that I might have ruled the world in short order instead of getting my arse spanked by those nasty green uppity greeks.

The same single elite unit can create only one leader. If upgraded (asterisk gone), it can do it again. At any one time, you can have only one leader available. So, to be able to create a leader, you must have none available and win with an elite unit with no asterisk.
