Good. After not playing civ for a month or so, this should draw me right back in.

Although this is supposed to be the 'Scenario editor' patch, I really hope that Firaxis has also exposed more of the general game rules in the editor. (E.g. I always wanted to fiddle with food box sizes.)

Regarding auto-bombard ... sounds more like an X-pack feature.

No, no, don't say that! I really want my auto-bombard! I like bringing in a stack of 10 or so Artillery etc, but it's such a pain firing them off one at a time. Please, please don't make me wait until the fall!

At least I can count on selecting terrain that the AI can't build cities on. I won't even have to bother with starving it out of Tundra or Desert, the way I'm doing it now.

I'm worried about all this talk about v1.29f being the last patch Firaxis is going to but out for Civ3. Each patch has created new bugs which called for another patch to fix it. If they've decided to abandon patching before the general public has even tested v1.29f then what happens if we uncover more bugs?

Well of course this won't be the last patch ever, just until the XP comes out, which in a sense is a patch itself. Just not a free one. And there will no doubt be a patch or two after that as well.

I hope this one works on WinXP!

I hope this patch allows me to play the game. The version after .17 (was it .19??) never worked for me on WinXP, even though .17 worked fine. .19 did exactly like the first version of the game did and wouldn't launch, in any mode. I would like to play Civ3 again. I'll stick to CTP until I get a version of Civ3 that works!

I was close with the release date and patch number about two weeks ago:

I predicted Thursday, 18 July and a patch number of 1.27f. I may yet be spot on with the date if they choose to release it a day early like they did with one or two of the previous patches.
None, Sedentary, Roving, Restless, Raging ... damn, is that all? Where's the "massive waves of barbarians that can wipe out your civilisation" setting?

They said no PtW feautures are in the Editor, but some hacking should be done then .
