As for combat results. In my first game with an un-mod-ed bic in a long time in virtually my first combat I lost an elite and a veteran cav to a 1hp conscript rifleman in open ground. Thats 9hp losses in a row!

I reloaded and re-fought next turn. Same combat my elite spawns a GL.

Playing Civ3 Santa

When a civ has angered me enough to wipe it off the face of the map, I give the useless cities to other civs not at war with the one I am wiping out. I don't have to raze the cities and the computer gets to deal with the culture flipping.
