Would you accept Incense & the technology of Gunpowder for it?

it would have to have a lot more than just mp to get me to shell out some of my hard earned lucre. i guess a combat system that doesn't allow my mech armors and battleships to be sunk by knights and galleys!
so long and thanks for all the fish

I am not going to order anything civ-related from the US (and pay freaking big shipping fee PLUS that stupid french import tax INCLUDING ON THE SHIPPING FEE!!) for something that should have been included in the first place, IMO.

We all know that the MP expansion will be available on the Internet at not cost thanks to the (nice?) people of the hacking community.
This time, I'll keep the $100 in my wallet and wait for a couple of days to get the thing I want for free (btw the last cracked versions of the patches were available the same day the official versions were released!)

solutions to protect software against piracy exist. If they don't use them, it's their choice.

Also, the fact that I have to order something from the other side of the ocean even though it is released by an editor located 50 miles away from where I live is beyond me.
Why is it that French customers have to wait several months before having access to the product? why is it that we cannot have access to the English version of the product if we want to (1- french translations often suck 2- having the English versions makes it easier to communicate with other people of the gaming community).

so there, civ3 has already cost me 100 bucks, I consider it's too much for a work in progress, so I won't invest one single extra buck in it.

I think it comes to the law : in France, only import stores can sell products in foreign languages only. Civ3 is out in France at April 12th (I believe).
Civ2 translations sucked bigtime, but SMAC began to be correct, as for Diablo2 and CTP (I'm only speaking about written translation, not vocal ones). I assume the ditors understood the value of a good translation.

Edit : oops, I forgot to answer the question
Voted 20-30 $, because it's the standard price for an XP, and because they would put much work in it (if they provide much needed features like MP or a sceanrio editor). But nothing more. I also think they should stop selling Civ3 alone, but only Civ3XP alone and Civ3/Civ3XP bundled. Civ3XP alone should be cheaper than the value of XP in the bundle : it would be a way to reward players from the start, who helped developping the game with their feedback, by letting them so some savings on the XP. Just my opinion.

We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

The cracked version of the game was posted a few days before it was legally available in the US .

$50 or higher, perhaps $100 for more civs, multiplayer, a combat engine that makes some sense, a robust editor, an AI that doesnt grab land faster than you can build a city, an AI that doesnt have 4 more techs than you when you meet them on the third turn, multiplayer, multiplayer, Dan Magaha's Sombreo (autographed), etc.

i think of sopftware piracy as an "enhansed demo version". if i truly like a game (or music CD for that matter) i buy it. you gotta support the coders. ::super secret coder ninja move::

I'd say somwhere in the high end of nothing.

Actually, consider it is an XP, and the prices of XPs in the past, I'd say $10 - $15 US dolor range. I could be wrong though, if they were really evil it would be $40 US.
