Yep. I would like to see them implemented too.

But 3) partially exists in Civ3 (you can trade or give away workers to another civ, but not military units), and 4) was somewhat implemented in SMAC (you could stack your units with an ally's units, and you could use their cities to heal your wounded units - though I'm not so sure about this last one).
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

you should also be able to be an arms dealer - sell military units making other nations stuck in a war dependant on you.

Seems strange how you can buy or sell slaves (workers), luxuries and resources, give money, and yet not sell units too. A shame really, the best you can do is try to cut off the civ your opposing's reources or supply the civ your supporting with some of your resources (unless you try to directly intervene in the war).

          look at it like this.

your civ has high production values, but no resources. you ally has loadsa resources but no production. you import raw materials cheeply, build the units and sell him these finished units at high cost.means you have a military, an economy and a military strong ally.

            Exactly, and perfectly realistic too.

well, not to realistic, but seeing as you cant make profit selling manufactured goods (look at the strength of Japans economy from import cheap raw materials - export expensive manufactures ie PCs, Cars.)

Imperialism 2 had the best way of dealing with resources and trade, maybe an altered version of this would work for civ. it probably wouldnt, in which case, my idea above about being arms dealer seems resonable.

It would be a nice way to get rid of obsolete units, but for the time being I content myself with supplying my allies with resources, technology and cash.
