For me it was a six, but I voted before playing with the patch. With the patch there is improvement, maybe now scrapes a seven. Maybe first expansion will drag it up to eight and multiplayer up to nine, lets wait and see.

Hey I still had fun playing, but not as much fun as when I first played civ2.

I'm not childish enough to let my disappointment about the game give it anything below the average. Though, I'm not childish enough to end up with ridiculous high grade just because I had fun playing it. Especially considering how much more work is needed about it.

Funny to see how many people will just look for either max or min, thinking it will weighten their opinion.

6.5-7 was my vote. Game was released early. Still fun to play but could have been much better and should have.

I gave it a 9. Yep, I liked it that much. I know this is a rather passionate score, but I'm having a lot of fun with Civ3.

And fun is the ultimate measure.

I wish I could say the same. After all, I'd prefer to realize some value for my investment. What, exactly, is it that is fun for you? What sort of style do you play? How long have you been playing? How large do your empires become? Do you automate your workers? Do you wage war with multiple combined arms? What level do you play on? And how many times have you played deep into the modern age?

Liberterian: I'm playing emperor, huge map, 16 civs.
playing style: expanding, growing / improving, war (take 1 or 2 civs) grow / improve, war ( take 1 or 2), grow / improve, war.......... then you'll reach the end game.

I like it to play civ as if I'm the leader of my people.
I want to keep them happy and satisfied, I want to protect them and keep up a good economy. And of course I want to expand now and then.

Pherhaps it's easier to win by raging the continent early in the game, but it's for sure not more fun. You need some phantasy to have fun playing this game I guess.

I gave it a 7, because I really like the game, but it isn't finished yet!!

I hope the future patches (if they ever come out!) will take it to 8 or 9, with MP included.

What we are unfortunately seeing is that Fireaxis has the same approach that Activision had for CTP: get the cash!!

I don't mind if the patches follow. The game is already very enjoyable with the present patch.

In my absence the average score was raised significantly. Through 145 votes the average is now at 8.15

I give it an 8. I haven't gotten to the end game yet so the vote may actually be lower if micromanagement is a pain. Overall, an enjoyable escape.
