    ahh SMAC.

it's good to reminence- even though I can't spell it

That game, like civ3, was a good game; but had potential to be much, much more. Could it be it was made from the same company? This is the only reason I get upset about complaints about civ3. Firaxis is a mediocre game company, and I didn't expect much from them.

Now back to SMAC. Smac did have many cool features. And I thought this would keep me playing the game for years. But the game just didn't have a human feel to it (didn't help it was on an alien planet! ). But improved graphics could have helped. But you have to admit that xenofungus wasn't made to be pretty . And I miss planetbusters. I never really used them, but they are fun to mess around with. The game was almost exactly like civ2 tech wise (just different names).

It was fun while it lasted. Perhaps if I had actually seen Dierdre running naked through the trees, I would have better memories of it.

SMAC to me is still the best civ game of all time history. And, the wonder movies rocked... first time ya see them, they are so kewl, especially if there was a doob in your recent past

The unit workshop and the rock-paper-scissors units were excellent as well.
