And compare that to the number Civ III has now.
Probably not a good comparison, since the PC gaming market was much smaller then.

Will a shameless marketing campaign make up for a rushed, uncomplete release? Let's see.

That can't be right. Everyone already owns The Sims.

Oh, probably 99.9%. I was just throwing in the odd Douglas Adams reference to keep things lively. I mean, there's a question out there to which 42 is the answer. I thought maybe that was it....

As much they well sell games, that much is bigger chace for XP and good patches.

Remember what happend to CTP2 (only 40,000 selled),
                  patching was abadoned.

I want it to sell well. Because the more people buy it the more likeley they will fix all the little problems with it Just look at Half Life there patches just keep comiing and they add ne features. So hopefully over time Frax will fix all the little problems with Civ 3

I don't know how well it is selling, but I have seen a price drop at the local stores. All the places I have seen Civ3 at have it at $5-10 less than when it was released. This game could be down to $30 by years-end. Looks like an attempt by Infogrames to keep Civ3 up in the best sellers. Didn't expect this kind of price cutting until MOO3 release.

The Walmart price is $34.95, that is down from $44.95 just before Thanksgiving. The signing was the Walmart "Price Rollback" sign. This usually indicates Walmart has gotten a rebate or price adjustment from the manufacturer, which they pass on to the consumer. Walmart does not lower prices unless they get some sort of break from the manufacturer.
