  • Is it just me, or am I dead last in CivTrivia?

Does anyone know if the CivTrivia score list stops at your name...or is it all inclusive (as I suspect) which means I'm the sorriest CivTrivia player ever?

As of this posting, there's a 3-way tie for second-to-last place at 1140 points. I seem to be dead last with a measly 700 points. I'd really like to know if that means they don't show any scores lower than mine, or if there are no scores lower than mine. Either way, I'd like to know so I can rationalize away my poor showing. Thanks.

I think it shows the top 20 or 30 or whatever, and if you aren't in those it shows your name at the bottom.

No, don't worry, you aren't last. I played for a bit until I got around 300 and something points, and haven't answered one since.

Hehe I'm worse than you: 200 points and stuck here. But I was the leader for the first few days.
I answer wrong that damm tutancamon question and since I hadn't have answered a question!

I know for sure I am last or at least tied for last, because I have a whopping total of ZERO points. Then again I only played for like 2 days, so I won't get too down about it.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

I didn't even notice there was something like a Trivia until a few weeks ago... now I've got a score of 520.. wow...

BTW, I'm sure that many of those who are on the top cheat on the thing... like using google or registering a second account to find out the right answer... against the spirit of the thing though

They always show the top 100, and but you behind if you're not in there. I've got 1000 points now so I'm not in the top 100, but not far behind.
You are not number 101 - they simply don't show the players between you and number 100.

Using Google is not cheating I think, if it is then anyone who reads the CivIII manual or looks something up in the Civilopedia cheats on CivIII as well IMHO.

utterly silly.... the CivTrivia is a Trivia for people using their knowledge, not their ability to use google.... whereas the civilopedia is there for helping in the game... I can't remember the point of CIV is knowing the trees out of your head, is it?

I'm sure you're one of those Trivia cheaters yourself

Nor is the point of the CivTrivia contest to know the entire history books and countless pointless anecdotes by heart. It's just a fun way to extend your knowledge and I LIKE to research the answer. It's a great way to get to know sites you've never seen and read just a little more than simply the answer to today's question, but I do understand that people rather just answer without looking it up. That's up to them... I say let's just enjoy CivTrivia, their won't be any gold medals at the finish anyway...

If you don't look up the answer, then you'll never extend you knowledge of history. Civ3 is a game, not real history, and I think that it's good that firaxis put up the civ trivia so you know what really happened in history.
The greatest generals in history didn't use war simulations, they just played Civ 2

Therefore, George Bush is half a man.

First, I see if I know the question. Then, by elimination and semantics I attempt to answer the question.

I only look up the question and the facts surrounding the question after I answer the question.

So, I don't cheat. And I forget to play 1/2 the time. But, that being said, I rarely miss....ok, I lie....those arms & armor questions really beat me into a pulp.

The whole leaderboard is totally meaningless though. It's just a toy. There is *no* honor for those at the top of the leaderboard...in fact, I'd say all the smart people are off the bottom of the list

I think I only have 30 points or something. I played 3 questions, then my system crashed and when I tried to log in it said that my user name has already been used . Never mind though I wasn't that big on Civ trivia anyway.

I worked my way up to 240 points. But when I relized how you could cheat and how the frontrunners were getting it all right, i decided to give up.

(heres how you cheat: make 2 screennames. On one of them, guess the answer. Wheny ou get it wrong, it'll tell you the correct one. Then log on as the other, and get the right answer)
