Yeap, the original author of the article mentioned
    that attacking the supplylines is a "powerful strategy";
and I suppose it's true. Just imagine all the new
opportunities to make war scenarios, where
maintaining the supplylines is vital for survival.
But now, hey, i have oil! They need oil! I'm fighting to
    protect my oil!
It makes it easier to make up a defence plan for
your territory. At least you know what to protect.
Hopefully such things come out in the diplomacy screen, and if the AI really makes a concerted effort to get what it wants/needs, that would be awesome.
At least the bartering table should help that.
That would bring so much more life to the game, IMO.
I agree with you on that too.

I have updated the original article link.
It's now pointing to a Finnish server.

        Here's the "new" link.

            Thank you, Dave!

I'll just drop a note that the website has been
changed, but the URL is the same as before.

Seriously: I'm not Great Finland idealist. ( Hey, if somebody really is, he needs help... ) Actually I support EU.

But Finland will be a superpower when I become its president!

Nice work! Translating even fun stuff can still be a pain.
                  Sid is an AoE fan!?!
Actually, Sid and Bruce Shelley are very close friends. Do a Google search to learn about Bruce Shelley.

                    Here's a bit from: http://www.ensemblestudios.com/ourteam/shelley.shtml

Prior to the start of Ensemble Studios in 1995, Bruce is best known for assisting Sid Meier on the design of the original editions of Railroad Tycoon and Civilization when they were colleagues at Microprose.
Also remember that: Gettysburg was an RTS (a quite good one at that!).

I wonder did they even try civ themselves or did Sid or some other dude just tell them the info. Interview and preview didn't have even a single new picture.

Thanks, Yin! It's true that it can sometimes be
like hell to translate long texts, but this time
it was more like a piece of cake.

The author of the original article, Tuomas Honkola,
was as a guest at Firaxis' HQ (it was mentioned
in the text, lazy berk) and he actually was allowed
to play Civ III. The article included pictures and screenshots
too, but we have seen them before and they're
available on Ape, so just surf around here for them.
BTW, I can understand your sarcasm, but I
don't think it's understandable in this case, sorry.
Why? My scanner is out of work and translating
the text took "just" few hours of my time.

                          Further questions or comments, TG?
