Also with planes the way they were you didn't really get a feel for the power of an aircraft carrier. It was really just a fast way of moving nukes round the world, admit it.

I agree. I would say the only time ground units should be able to stop aircraft is if they have some kind of AA capability. The new system sounds very well thought out- simple, yet it expands on air-pwer.
