Space Launch too. I want the longest game possible so that I can get a good look at the full game, but I won't feel like it was a true victory if I play for a histograph victory.

well i suppose as a warmonger i have a duty to purge the earth, but i definately want to explore the culture system in depth."I've lived too long with pain. I won't know who I am without it. We have to leave this place, I am almost happy here."

Victory will always depend on the contingencies and situation of the game being played. I will shoot for whatever seems the easiest to reach given the circumstances. There should be an option for "any" or like Nemo said, "whatever way I can".
The only exception would be to go from 50% to 100% in one turn, which might be possible, but rarely.
There could be similar problems with some of the others, depending on the AI. If all the AI Civs vote for the Civ that's leading in Culture as soon as the UN is made, then the UN Victory option might prevent a Cultural Victory.
There may be other situations like this, but of course we can only speculate for now. We've only seen two victory conditions in Civ I and II. How four new ones interact and affect each other will be fun to see.Eine Spritze gegen Schmerzen, bitte.

Spaceship 'Unity' launch has a romantic feel for me...
I spent some moment of my life dreaming about interstellar flight during my life... I was very happy when Civ II let me build my own starship. A side effect of too many SF books I have read, probably.
Of course a Cultural victory is attractive because it seems refreshingly new. As a Hybrid Style player I hope Cultural Victory will be so good to become my favourite."We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."

There's a problem with that. You have to choose the conditions at the game start, and two of them (at least) are mutually exclusive. In other words, if you check both Domination and Conquest at Game Start, conquest will be impossible because Domination will always come first. (Anywhere from 51% to 75%, depending on where you get your info, compared to 100%)
