Victory Condition Poll

What victory condition will you use for your first game?

In the opening interface, you will get to choose which victory condition(s) you want in the game. (The poll doesn't allow for combinations because there is a limit to the amount of choices when making a poll.) So even though you can choose more than one at game start, pick which single one will you shoot for in your first game.

I include Histographic because it is the default ending (if none of the others are done by 2050), although it is not one of the choices in the opening interface.

For my first game, I expect to be thoroughly thrashed, so probably none of these conditions will apply. It will be more of a get-acquainted-with-the-game thing rather than a winning thing, but in the end if it turns out I'm doing fairly well and I should think about ending the game, I'll try the Space Victory (Alpha Centauri).

i agree with jelleydonut. i plan on getting romped my first game. so, i will try to win any way i can!

Hmm, I couldn't tell you for sure. But voted 'space launch' as it will probably allow for the longest game possible.

Actually, Histograph allows for the longest game possible. That is when you go to the time limit of the game (2050 AD) and the civilization with the highest overall score wins.

I said Space Launch because that is how I always won in Civ1 and Civ2. But the cultural win kinda sounds interesting also...

Im planning on the cultural victory initially, as my first game will be to discover how the game plays, etc. So thru trying for the cultural victory, it will allow me to be a perfectionist and a prolific builder

I'll try the old Civ2 traditional crush everyone strategy until I get the feel of the game. Then I'll try the others.
That's what I did with SMAC. Although, I never tried for an economic victory in it. I don't even know how its done. Oh well. After Civ3 comes out and unless it bombs it will be a long time before I touch SMAC or Civ2..
