Their preorder list didn't mention the LE, nor did the man in the shop. To be honest, I'm not up for paying another £10 for a biscuit tin and some miniatures.

The list did however mention both "Civilisation 3" and "Civillisation 3". I kid you not.

Jad - you a student here? What year, subject, college if so?

is that $64.99 before or after S&H?

The old price was $64 before S&H, the new price is $59 before S&H.

Are you sure? I quote from their and on their home page: "Choose from the Limited Edition Tin, packed with many extras, or the regular version and get a free copy of Risk II!"

I interpret that as meaning you get Risk only with the regular edition.

Edit: actually...now I can see how it can be interpreted both ways. It seems unclear.

actually i was not "interpreting" anything, they made it very clear:

Pre-order Civilization III Limited Edition from EBgames.com and receive a free copy of Risk II for PC!

(its in bold print on that URL )

Yep, that's clear. The funny thing is, I was thinking of getting Risk II to hold me over until Civ3. And they don't seem to have it on sale there.

Will they send Risk II right away or when they ship Civ3? If it's the latter, why should anyone care? Who wants to think about playing anything else when Civ3 arrives?

I was originally going to get the LE, but I'm beginning to have real doubts that it's worth buying.

Nope, I work for one of the ISPs. Used to go to Anglia in Chelmsford though, so I guess my student days are vaguely related to Cambridge

They should bundle the strategy guide instead.

Why? The only one that'll be worth getting is the one Vel's going to write. He promised!

Well, I'm not so sad I missed that offer, then...I already own Risk II!

And it is not a very good game. The first Risk for the PC had tons more options and cool things. Risk II was boooooring and there were no special features (different maps, army/leader options, etc.) like in the first one. Major disappointment.

                                Cheers.
