  • The date

I just had a look at the new screenshots and was looking for which year they where playing, but was I concluded, it took ages (ok a little shorter ) to find the small tiny line with the "year" number. I don't know about you, but I really think that is the wrong place for the date. I would prefer to have the date in the upper right corner away from all other unit text (and the space there is empty anyway). Take a look at the pics by yourself, what do think about it?

Yeah, move the date to another spot.

No, the place where it is now is fine.

Lol. I can't be bothered to look for the pic either but I just voted who cares anyway because I usually don't even realize what the date is until it's time for the space race.

I only use the date as a guide to how advanced my civ should be. If I discover tech x by about year y then I know I am doing par for the course.

So anyway, where on the screen is the year indicator?

IMO this poll is an incredible waste of space. Sorry.

This poll is a waste. As long as the date is there and I can find it without injuring myself, I'm not going to worry.

IMO this is probably the most important poll up to now.

Indeed, and this include all polls that I have seen in *any* forum or life in general.

Maybe someone could devote some resources and we could have a site dedicated to this topic!

Hmm, i always used population as a gauge. . given that techs often go in somewhat different directions, etc. . interesting though..

I've been doing some thinking and I'll probably be posting a new, exciting poll, to see whether people want the date the way it is now (BC/AD) or this way (B.C./A.D.). And you'd better listen Firaxis! That'll show 'em.

Id prefer the date to be down with all the other info. So you can see 'at a glance' how your civ is doing.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I'd prefer to ignore Gregorian year dating (i.e. B.C./A.D.) and just start on Year 1 and work towards Year 6000.

I prefer the date not be on the screen at all and instead be transmitted directly to my brain through radio waves.
