  • Post here if you own preorder video or want to host it

In an attempt to get things rolling on the preorder video front, I would like all current owners of the video to sign on here and list there internet connection, as well as any who would like to host the video.
For those willing to post the video on the web, here are a few sites that offer enough space to host the 70 meg file.

Im pretty sure that the "preorder" video is copyrighted material. Any posting of it on those sites will likely result in the permissions of the file being altered so that the general public can not download them. In a worst case your account will get removed...

This may be true, but it would be available long enough for the vast majority of the Apolyton community to view it.

Hate to sound like an idiot, but....
I can't find that one in the list of newsgroups that I can acces right now.

Deal is, I use news.cc.purdue.edu, that gives me access to some newsgroups, but not alt.binaries.civ2 or anything that relates to civ at all.

              HELP!

i checked it out, but actually didn't find anything of interest, is there something I'm not seeing?
By the way, Anni, would your internet connection allow you to upload the file to one of the web services I listed earlier in the thread?

I checked, it's there and ready to go. You may not have seen it as I was in the middle of posting it when I replied here.

Does anyone know of any free software to view newsgroups? All i have is AOL and I assume that is why I am not able to find the file listed.

Well, the address: http://alt.binaries.games.civ2 or http://www.alt.binaries.games.civ2 or http://alt.binaries.games or http://www.alt.binaries.games - does not work! The web page cannot be displayed.

I tried them all, just to be on the safe side.

Anunikoba, what is the EXACT web address?

It's a newsgroup and as such has no web address. It's kind of like a listserv, but all the e-mail are stored on a server instead of e-mails being sent around.

                              Yeah, it's a usenet group.

You need a newsreader and a connection for that. But, it was the easiest way for me to get the vid to the public.
