V3 was a giant gun. It was just never finished, but had it been completed, it was meant to fire a shell at London every six minutes. Just another of Hitlers crazy schemes.
Sandy:you're right, I was forgotten V2 already were ballistic rockets, btw tried to find something quickly on the net but there was nothing to find(darn when you need something you can't find it )
=> an other unit(or something like that: minefields(land and sea)

Internationalist,
Don't misunderstand me. I never said there was going to be an extra unit library (how would I know if there were?). I was merely pointing out that there seem to be some units that Firaxis has made art for, but in all likelihood aren't going to use in the regular game. The MiG, biplane, 88 AA gun, one of two native American brave units, are some that seem likely not to make it, base on what we know. What Firaxis does with them, who knows, but I doubt they'd just bury them after going through the trouble of paying artists to make them. I hope they release them in scenarios or something, and not just sit on them until the next modpack which we have to pay for.
The bigger question is, who is willing and able to make 3D units for Civ3? If such people exist, we need to start harassing them to make some good stuff already!

You're Just not reading my script the way it's supposed to.Iroquis is just misspelling(I thought I fixed it but not the case.)
I was reading their specific unit is the braves and it seemed logical the other indian unit to be called like that.(the iroquois braves is semi-confirmed there are screenshots in Harlan's posts.Ofcourse it might be changed until the game is shipped).I never said they would name a unit after a civ.For screenshots search Harlan's recent posts.
Harlan,
don't worry i didn't missunderstand you, I'm just interpreting things you've said the way I'd like them to be(it is a wishlist after all).It would be a waste not to use these units for something. So, why not use some of the units in the wishlist(the most popular ones) and make a library, like in FW?

I did some 3D units for my newest Civ2 scn, and I may do the same for Civ3. However, these Civ2 units are of course not animated, animations cost a lot more work and time (esp. for a single person), and real life comes always first. I also never animated people or animals until now (needed for ancient/medieval units especially), it is much more siple to create anims for tanks and planes, or scifi space ships. It all depends on what Fireaxis gives us to create new units - if it is possible without spending weeks on one unit , I´ll try it...

CNN news trucks
OSHA inspectors
nurses (see above)
strippers (see above)
pimps in pink cadillacs
IRS agents
policticans/leeches (either, one is as good as the other)
witch doctors
vampires and vampiresses (see above)
waitresses (ditto)
giant sea monsters
ET (complete with bicycle)
Forrest Gump (this should be the American special unit IMHO)
Looney Tunes (all of them)
another special unit would be Game Publishers that if delivered into a city producing a unit would force that unit to be rushed for the Christmas season thereby reducing its stats

I would also like to answer this question of yours above.
The obvious answer is: Firaxis/Infogrames artists. That's why I'm making this list(essentially, asking or even begging ) for a list of units.
You can see that in the CTP series. How many people even bothered to make animated units? It's just so time consuming. I don't think it will be different with Civ3.Making animated units is one thing, but finding a way to do it easy for the mass is almost an impossible goal.If i'm not mistaken there aren't more than 20 animated units for both CTP-CTP2.
So I'm asking for a library of at least 48 units(12 for each of ancient, mediaval, rennaissance, modern era's,maybe add 12 for futuristic) which should cover much of the scenario creators like yourself wishes) along with our not animated units. That's what I'm asking, and I don't think it's that much to ask. A few new units in scenarios(ala CTP 2) just doesn't cut it, for me at least.
Man, a lot of people don't know the difference between Civ and a military game.
Some of the ideas that I like- minelaying / minesweeping. Subs should be used as minelayers- it would help increase their utility.
Early airpower- neglible use in terms of attack, but improved reconnaissance. Maybe it simply lets you see another square, and/or lets you see all the units that make up a stack.
...was always pretty stupid that a spy could tell you exactly what was in the enemies' city capital in the heart of their territory, but couldn't identify the make up of an army on a plains tile riding your railroad in the heart of your own territory...
I would like to see Viking Fleets, which could move faster than its contemporary ships AND sail up rivers, a major Viking tactic.
(Of course, it doesn't look like there will be river tiles anymore, just river edges. Do we know if river movement bonuses are kaput?)
