I wonder if you get to add architecture from civs that you conquered?

'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

Hmm. Maybe its the players free choice? Perhaps exclusive radio-buttons which determine what cultural style this or that added element should have? I hope so.
Correct. You can choose which piece of the palace to build next, and you also get to choose between different cultural styles of building for each piece. You can keep it consistent or mix and match.

Grounds are English or French Rennaissance.
Left wing- lower is Egyption, topped with Doric order Greek although some Roman aspects present.
Left link is late Medeival.
Right wing is more Greco-Roman- maybe Etruscan. Still boring Doric order, not even Ionic, or Corinthian, which would be more reprsentative of Roman.
Right link appears to be an attempt at Art Deco, but looks like bad Post-Modernism.
Centre base is primitive, may be old Egyption or an attempt at Babylonion. Not sure.
Proceeding up, we have Japanese, topped by a very fine gothic arched colonade that appear near eastern in origin, though it might be Baroque; then a Mayan pyramid and "Wren-aissance" towers for minarets.
How do I like it?

Hey, that's not what the tower HAS to look like, As dan just said (and as should be completly apparent, if you've played civ1) you can choose the style of each piece you add.-connorkimbro

I would have liked if you pressed on the door instead of the big X.
I hope you can choose what Architexture like in civ1. Maybe the screeb is a mix of everythingDestruction is a lot easier than construction. The guy who operates a wrecking ball has a easier time than the architect who has to rebuild the house from the pieces.--- Immortal Wombat.

Well it is the same principle as civ1 obviously, where you mixed and matched the sections of your palace. The question is though, will it have any real influence on your civilisation, eg, increase culture output at your city containing the palace, etc, or is it just a bonus feature in the game?
I just had a very powerful nostalgia trip then again, going back to civ1...ahhhhhh...Speaking of Erith:

to be honest...
i liked the thrown room of CivII to the palace of CivI, but CivIII shoud change my mind. i only played CivI (dos + windows) and colonisation after CivII from abandonware sites.Just my 2p.
Which is more than a 2 cents, about one cent more.
Which shows you learn something every day.
