  • What kind of architecture is that in the new palace screen shot?!

While the last seems to show the Egyptian Palace screen. .

Incorrect. Look closer! It seems all Imran noticed were the Sphinxs. . but i can see other kinds of architecture ranging from classical roman, to gothic, to asian to. . alot of different stuff. What do you see in there?

I think perhaps they made a palace with all the different styles to sort of show all the different styles they had, but not the full palace of any one style, what do you think?

*sorry i had to make a new thread, but nobody was looking at the other thread really.

It would help if you provided a link, so we knew what shot you're looking at. I don't have time to search for it.....

Yes, there does appear to be different styles in the palace design.

I wonder if you can do landscaping like with the civ1 style palace??
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Hopefully, like in Civ1, one can indeed choose to make such an insane fantasy-mix of building styles, regardless of the Civ you play.

If the building style is linked to your civ, it would mean more trouble for people seeking to add custom civs later on. I can see the Egyptian pyramids of the TurcoMongols rising...

Yes, I hope it will be possible to have a "multicultural" palace. It kinda looked good in civ1, at least made it more fun.

Wow! I really liked the palace thing in Civ1 and now there are loads of styles to choose from.

I see a lot of different styles, I see Egyptian, Chinese or Japanese, Aztec, Greek, Roman (almost just like Greek though) and then the little towers on the sides of the main part of the palace could be English or French maybe.

Both Nazi- and Stalinist architects was much into copying and mixing different historic (mostly ancient) styles in overproportional tasteless combinations.

Personally, I would prefere building a sumptuous and elegant palace within culture-consistent architectural styles, rather then just mix-and-match all kinds of styles into something "massive" and "size-impressive" only.

Hmm. Maybe its the players free choice? Perhaps exclusive radio-buttons which determine what cultural style this or that added element should have? I hope so.
