Hey, this makes me feel stupid, but I can't seem to get any video playback. All I'm getting is sound on Windows Media Player, which sucks. I can't download any other player because of company restrictions. Am I screwed?

I wanna watch my movies at TAFE (college) but when i goto to
install the divx codec (doesnt matter which version) i get an error, i
believe its because only the Admin account has the ability to
modify/add drivers/codecs etc. Does anyone know away around
this? or away to tell WPM or any other player what "files" to use to
decode the movie without them actually bieng "installed".
Any help would be much appreciated.

Nope you are pretty much going to have to brown nose the IS
department and talk them into letting you install it. Short of that you
might try guessing what the local admin account is. If they aren't too
bright or they are absent minded the..................

Well, at least I know there is nothing that can be done.
It took me 5 min. here but I will have to spend 5 hours at home downloading this thing.A thing either is what it appears to be; or it is not, but yet appears to be; or it is, but does not appear to be; or it is not, and does not appear to be.--Epictitus

BTW to get it all right sided go into View and then options and it's in there. I was playing it with just one earphone half the time
I took a load of screenshots of interesting bits and put them in a zip about 25 or so. So anyone with slow connections I'll mail it to you. Lots of stuff about the various resources you get from plains and grass etc. and any extra you get from goods on the tile. It's about 700kb so much smaller then the video. Reply in my new thread on it.
BTW I think it was Numidian WarriorsLast edited by Darkknight; May 31, 2001, 21:46.Destruction is a lot easier than construction. The guy who operates a wrecking ball has a easier time than the architect who has to rebuild the house from the pieces.--- Immortal Wombat.

FOR WINDOWS:
-Go to audio controls (notated by some kind of audio-looking thing in the bottom right)
-Open Volume Controls (or whatever it is your software has you do)
-Set the master volume balance all the way to the right.
Believe me it works. The guy was talking check into the left side of the machine, and the firaxian was talking from the right.
Whatever kind of video recorder the guy had, it took note of that.
FOR MAC AND LINUX:
