I have been in contact with the guy who owns the site, and he said he will probably make some high-res screenshots off the original uncompressed video for us. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have the problem too... and then I DL the codex and don't know where to extract it & install it.

          Any help would be appreciated.

edit: Nevermind, found out how to do it.

DL the Codex, expand it to anywhere (it creates a new folder) and then right click the .inf file and click install... then run the vid.

I have the DiVX codec on my website.

Unzip it to a folder and run "register_divx.exe"

            This will install it.

Run virus scan on it, just to be safe.

Right. It's also linked on the BonusWeb site. Either run the .exe file, or if you're less lazy, right click the .inf file and select install. Easy as pi.

That movie is great. It really shows what civ3 is shaping up to be. I gotta say civ3 is looking amazing. The animations do indeed add so much life to the game. I love it when the units fight. The animations make it feel like you are watching the battle unfold in front of you. Gotta love that warrior grunting and swinging his club.
The map graphics do look much better. The maps looks much more geographically pleasing than civ2.
I also moticed the advisors pop-ups. At one point, the science advisor suggests you research bronze working, and the player can say ok or do something else. They seem to act more like advisors, telling you about events, suggesting things.
I was very impressed with the diplomacy. There are tons of options, you can mix and match deals. I like how the civ leader changes facial expressions depending on what you say.

Keep it up Firaxis. civ3 is looking great!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

The movie is pretty poor quality, but all in all, it seems as if civ3 is shaping up to be a pretty good game. It also appears that all the units are colour coded - notice the Romans were red, and their boats had red stripes on the sails? cool hey.

hmm....still don't see any snow capped mountains, or snow, for that matter!!

I also wish they'd show us some of the modern era's!! Maybe the graphics aren't done for it yet?!?

Love what the trade show dudicus said about trade in diplomacy, tribute..

                    I just hope there is:
-an option for low or no animated units (the combat between his warrior and the Greek knight took a good 2-3 seconds, which is FOREVER in civ-terms)
-and to customize the view. Bottom screen control tab reminds me to much of ToT.

Also: It DIDN'T look like a Window to me...
                    "Wait a minute..this isn''t FAUX dive, it's just a DIVE!"
"...Mangy dog staggering about, looking vainly for a place to die."
"sauna stories? There are no 'sauna stories'.. I mean.. sauna is sauna. You do by the laws of sauna." -P.

Don't feel bad, DK. I'm at 21% with over 5 hours remaining. Of course, I'm surfing the web, and reading newsgroups, which increases the time as well.

It is definitly worth the download, even if it takes a few hours. It only took me 10 minutes, but you HAVE TO SEE THIS! The animated units look awesome!

That happened to me as well, but if you hit "stop" while ther page is loading you get the right page (first the correct page loads, then it redirects you to the no site adress, so if you hit stop before the redirect eeverything will be fine).

                              !!!!!

It is worth downloading (I am lucky that at wor it takes only 10 mins)

First of all, if there are czech people out there that could translate what the guy is saying it would be graeat!

Other than that I love the animated units, and they seem to have great movement, much better than CTp-ones used to.

The way ships sail is fun too. Borders are as expected, and graphich look the best in any Civ type game already, but if you read on the website you will see that they say, graphics are not completed yet, and we will still see improvements on that front.

Apart from the usual tiles there seem to be beach type (white one), and three different dephts of the sea.

It seems that the barbarian it says 'You have disturbed Numibian Warriors'

I could see a Whale as the sea resource, though it was only one on this part of the map.

And a question. What is the figure standing in the middle of 'our' city? is it another unit, or is it perhaps a world wonder (it thought that would be nice but it probably isn't)???
