Well, it's mainly supposed for those who are interested in getting CtP2, and those people visit CtP2 forums in the first place. However, I surely have no objections if some Civ 3 players read it, too.

civ3 does not suck. well not until you've played it a few hundred times. Then it tends to be repititave.
Funny, I figured that out after 4-5 times...saved myself a lot of potential wasted time
Actually, its not that bad, but a lot of micromanagement things really need to be addressed in civ3.

micromanagement isn't all bad, if it's fun micromanagement
I like building my empire in the beginning of the game. And I love moving around my workers in the beginning. But it just gets annoying later in the game for some reason. I really should use the automation I guess.

Have you tried Rise of Nations (RoN)? Brian Reynolds, who designed/lead programmer of SMAC, created RoN. I'd also like to recommend a few Paradox games: EU2, HOI, and Victoria.
Personally, I enjoy Civ3 very much, even more since Conquests.

The fact that BR was heavily involved with RoN doesn't really do much to recommend it to a fan of BR's TBS classic. If you like RTS then play RoN, but don't play it just because of BR.
that's true, spikey. to those who love rts games, RON must be a joy to play. to me it was interesting - the best rts game that i have played, but even this fact could not make me want to buy the game after i had experienced the demo.
Yeah that's my point. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about RoN. It's just I get perplexed with TBS people saying they'd buy it just because of BR, when if they don't like RTS they wont like it, regardless of the few minor tweaks introduced in RoN.
