      Thanks guys.

I can't lay claim to too much real activity in 2004, though, as RL has been kicking my *ss. So I recuse myself, if that's alright.

      My votes:

vxma1 - He is just always... here. And informative, and helpful, and with a pretty good attitude.

Rhothaerill - For a long time, Arrian, Catt, and I (among others) seemed to be the first in when answering basic questions from newer players... Rhothy has been jumping in a lot in this regard, and it is much appreciated.

ducki - Keeps punching away at game concepts and improvement. Has done more, in a way, to help the community as a whole advance in certain techniques than anyone has done in a while.

      :applause to all:

          Kon! I recused myself.

Vote for alexman (D'oh!), which I shoulda done except I was trying to acknowledge some other folks.

Aside from, uh, let's see, knowing and sharing more about game mechanics than anyone on earth including Firaxians, having a resolutely positive attitude about the evolution of the game and series, being tremendously helpful to both the new and experienced players, [need I go on?] alex is the prime force in the ongoing success of Apolyton University and the AU Mod (sidenote: and thus one of the biggest influencers on the development patches, and prolly the future CIV).

Heck, I'm getting all worked up: Screw OT and all that, who posts what and who is popular... this site was and is about Civ, and alexman is such a star that we should *all* be banging on Firaxis and Atari to hire him. That is the Hall of Fame that counts.

DC, when you added my vote for Frozzy you added it as frozzy as a new total. Note one is capitalised, the other isn't. I mean them to be the same person though. i.e add the score to Frozzy's current score of 6.

Well, if my vote for Theseus can't count ...

Alexman is definitely a legend that deserves to be in.

                    I did!

However you deserve to be in the HOF, and I hope you do decide not to recuse yourself. As it is in most things, quality counts much more than quanity (thank god for that, otherwise Panag would be a lock for the HOF)

If you don't change your mind and my vote for you is invalid, then I would like to change it to Aeson.

Thanks MB! I'd just like it to be in a month (or period) when I've been around a bit more, and maybe done something new and cool, like the Must Reads or AU... have no fear, I've been hatching some ideas in the back of my head.

                        Theseus:

I understand your reasoning, but voting for the HOF shouldn't be based on a good month or two it should be based on a persons overall contribution to the community. Just look at is as payment for past accomplishments. It's really a shame that you Catt, Arrian, Aeson, and Alexman (and a few others) are not in the HOF already as you and your peers contributions in the Civ 3 boads (especially the strat and AU) have been immense.

Couldn't agree more here. Btw, when those we vote for get in, do we get that vote back to cast again?

There are too many that deserve it on their Civ-related merits (Aeson, vmxa and anybody that has a useful tactic named after them, to scratch the surface) to narrow it to three.

Why shouldn't Panag be in the Hall of Fame? I think he should,

A vote for Panag is akin to voting for Harold Reynolds to the MLB hall of fame.

His posts do not convey much in information IMNSHO, most were just cut and pastes of information which he found on the net, and he has a problem with brevity, clarity, and staying OT. For every piece of relevent information he provided came a page or two of useless, irrelevent, or boring information. One example of this is a mere mention of the Sea Sparrow system brought a three page post on the Sea Sparrow system which contributed nothing to the discussion of the thread. He also replied to every thread in the Civ 3 boards making him impossible to ignore. I could go on but I will let this stand as my oposition to Panag for HOF.

                                Yada, yada, yada.
