This is good news. Be so kind and send as much gold as you can - like 900 would be very cool. It's unlikely we will use it, at least not all of it, but it will allow us some flexibility with shortrushing (we're doing lots of shortrushes to get our navy in the Western Ocean on par with GS (numerically), plus lots of tank builds need a little bit of shortrushing, too.
We will return the gold (if still alive) as soon as we enter modern times. I believe we will spend one turn idling then, waiting for your free tech (the extra cash will come in handy anyway) to decide on our next research goal.
This coming turn is unlikely to bring any break-throughs - unless GS make some fatal mistake, letting their ships too close to our coast, allowing us to blast them with our mighty artillery. But I am not holding my breath, GS are no idiots. Most probably, D-Day is to happen in 1265AD, with simultaneous attacks/landings at 3 different points - two in the West, one in the East.
16 tanks on our rooster, up to 11 more ones this coming turn (subject to whether pollution is kind or unkind to us). It's not impressive, but still better than no tanks at all.
More, including an updated map, tomorrow - need to do some business today... this game is threatening to ruin it quickly.
but I thought that inf + art beats tanks on defense
Jon Miller
It can...but not if you have 20 tanks attacking you in a turn. Some will win. That's why you hope that your cavalry can win some battles against the defensive units that the opponent brought along to protect the wounded tanks.
Seeing Vondrack's recent email, the amount of tanks they've been able to build in the last two turns is good. Having the ability to more adequately remove GS and GoW's defensive units to get at their tanks will be helpful.
I read MZ's news article about the invasion. I suspect the 240 units was probably accurate. And I presume they used bombers to take out the rail lines to prevent a large atrillery counter-attack.
Rhoth - any word from Vondrack?

In response to the 1265ad war update in the Tales from the Front thread, this is what I sent back to Vondrack
Hi Radek,
Well all of that news is good to hear. It sounds like you've been planning the heck out of these turns and it's been paying off for you.
We can send you about 800 more gold next turn, and then about 200-250 per turn after that until we get to the next age. When that happens we'll need to get together and decide whether you need gold from us or whether you need us to research techs.
As to workers, we have none at the moment. All of them went to get us up to the population we're currently at. If you need some I can have Hope start producing a few, but that's about the only city where we can do that.

Every turn is so crucial now... DeepO has got me worried again with
his "update" posted in the public forum this morning ("I can tell you
one thing, Lego. You're not going to like our battle report. Sorry").
They probably broke through the sea wall around Abilene and are now
planning to throw everything (tanks+marines) at the city. But even
that should not be enough to take it. And we would have at least one
less threast (marines) to worry about in the following turns...

800 gold would be, well, golden.
We'll see how the war goes in the following two/three turns - but by
the time we enter modern times, it will probably have reached the
point of break. It will either be obvious we'll lose it or the other
way round.

No problem at all - I just mentioned it because if you had some, they
could be useful to us, but don't worry about it. We're building quite
a few ourselves. It's just that there are no limits to what we can use
now. No need to use Hope to build them.
> Good luck in further turns.
Yeah, we will need it. The war will be decided within the next two or
three turns.
I haven't really put much thought into this game at all the past few days. If you're up for it I wouldn't mind if you wanted to compose something to Radek.
Well, I for one would be shocked if all of Lego's cities have been conquered in the span of one turn...
If Lego still has any cities (which I'm think that they do)... I'm wondering if the Alliance is going to let them live or not. If Lego is being/has been wiped out, do we have any chance of settling any part of Legoland's landmass?

We have been offered one city - Invoice I think it was.

As to Lego's cities, they lost 9 from the report. I'm quite certain they had more than 9 since we have 10. The problem was, those 9 formed much of their core cities including their capital and forbidden palace. Their not dead yet, but it's pretty much a foregone conclusion now that their production has essentially been cut in half.
Hello gentlemen. I know you have heard it from us before, but let me say how sorry we are as to how things have turned out for Lego. We really were pulling for you; and it went beyond the natural obligation we felt for you having saved us.
But, the game moves on, and we are now trying to tip-toe our way thorugh the diplomatic minefield that exists. We are also wondering what Lego plans on doing next. Do your transports need a safe haven? Do you want a Vox city to work with? Would you like us to try and negotiate a homeland for you somewhere? Or are you on a final suicidal run at GS? You don't need to answer the last if that's what it is, but if you need our help with any of the other options, please let us know.
We are also negotiating tech deals, and so far it looks like we would be able to keep you at tech parity (I am embarassed to say that given our reversed relationship in the past) as long as you do not use the techs to do further dealings with. At least that was ND's position. I am not sure where GoW and GS stand. As I find out more I will let you know.
As I am taking over from Rhothaerill for awhile, please do not hesitate to contact me, or if I am slow in responding, try conmcb25.
Regards - and looking to hear from you. ...Beta.

Kloreep (whom I also sent the note to, has gotten back to us. I don't like the idea. It surrenders the neutrality we have maintained so long, which to me looks like an act of desperate revenge.
Yep, Vondrack and Tiberius aren't active anymore. ZargonX is heading
Legoland now, and I and some others like Jack_www are still active as well.
Thanks for the city offer. The team agreed we don't want to stay in the
game once we're ultimately defeated. That doesn't rule out city gifting,
but we aren't looking for a permanent home. Thanks for the tech offer
too, but that probably won't matter either. (Unless the world already
has Nuclear Power, in which case I'm sure our ships could use more
movement.)
One thing I would like to ask... what would you think about Lego forces
landing in Vox with a RoP and coming on to the Legos rail network via
your territory? It would probably be fairly obvious where they came from
to GS and GoW, so if you don't want to risk what are no doubt delicate
diplomatic relations with them, that's understandable. I wouldn't want
you guys to put yourselves at risk unless you're okay with it.
