  • Embassies!

We have some gold and we are about to have the knowledge prior to everyone else on our continent. We can initiate an intelligence coup by getting screenshots of our enemy's capitals and posting them back here.

Though embassies will be cheap at this point, we have limited resources to spend with. What nations on our continent should take priority in order to assure we get the goods on them, instead of the other way around?

Should this GoW deal go down where they pay us 60g in addition to giving us Horseback Riding, I FULLY support opening an embassy with the funds they give us, and using our own small stash to check out Neu Dem and Lux as well.

Whom shall we "spy on" first? I vote on LUX, then GoW and then ND, in that order.

[ooc] does anyone know if they get a look at us at the same time that we establish the embassies with them??[/ooc]

I vote on Lux too. I am anxious to understand what happened to them.

I would personally vote on ND first. They are the cheapest of the three and probably will be our biggest rival.

For sure, we need to get them all established before we give them the opportunity to do so with us.

[edit]: I may amend that. Does anyone remember if you have to have an embassy to trade contacts? I know we want to have contact with Vox and thereby GS soon. If an embassy is a prerequisite, I say go for Lux first, then ND, then GoW.

I would suggest also that we choose the Lux Invictans first, for they seem to be the most dangerous at present, since, if Neu Demogyptica is to believe, they seem intent on either 1) starting a war, or 2) driving the Neu Demogypticans totally insane. All things considered, I'd say an embassy to Lux Invicta is the first priority.

Then I'd suggest one to Neu Demogyptica, just in case we can get a glimpse of this 'Lux Invictan warrior' near Neu Theban.

Actually, the most dangerous are GoW. They intrude on our cities. I have no preference, but I can not see why we have such anti-Lux sentiment when only GoW and the jackass GF have insulted us time and time again. The bull is to be feared as much as the fox.

My interest for Lux results from their extremely bad performance till now. Is this an extreme low profile strategy or are they really weak ?

As I've argued elsewhere, that's my sentiment as well. We have absolutely nothing to really gain from an embassy right now.

A view of their capital? For 40-50 gold?!? You must be kidding! That's a horrendous waste of money at this stage in the game... we don't need no stinking view of their capital.

Having that money around to upgrade a warrior to a swordsman, on the other hand, might not be such a bad idea...

I would wait until one of them starts building a wonder. Then we use the embassy creation as a method of finding out how long it will take them to complete it. (Assumes they build the wonder in their capital.)
