I wonder if my cities "three apart" idea isn't as original as I thought. Looks like ND is doing that with two of their cities in order to better protect them both.

If we move the site of #2 one tile SW ... I know it will kill Senor Tamali, but it will mesh to form a very nice defensive structure with cities 3 and 8, and all of them will be behind rivers, giving them a defensive bonus.

      2670BC - Plan 2

As our Great leader wishes, here is Plan #2 with Site #2 moved SW one tile. It has 3 more tiles that are overlapped with the other 2 Cities.

Cities build in the jungle, or at the limit, are not in the best defensive poSition, since they have no killing zone in open terrain; the attackers have the defensive bonus of the jungle. ideally, the ennemy must be destroyed before he reaches the city.
If we are in a purely defensive mood, cities build on jungle tile must be protected by fortresses garrisonned.

The alternate map is much prettier. I like the mountains being represented by grey and white.

Did we find out if ND got a settler or a city from an early goodie hut? If it was the latter, then they didn't plan to put their second city so close the to first.

I didn't think that you could get a City from a goody hut. I thought that that was a CivII thing?

                    can get settlers from huts

with the expansion tho ive noticed that sometimes they are forced to build the city right where the hut was. thus, a city

They got a settler, as they told us that a Lux warrior followed their settler back home, and that's why they are in rather hostile terms with Lux.

Yes, it seemed the only way to shake off these bold and, shall I say, mildly revolting Lux Invictans was to build a city near enough to their own territory to be defensible if the little blackguards decided to attack.

                          Long Rang Expansion Plans:

Pamplona is centrally located and has the potential to grow VERY rapidly, and may serve as our primary Settler factory throughout the REX phase.

Madrid will also create a vast number of settlers, but it should change it's focus more towards production of units and workers.

Sites 16, 12, 9, and 8 may also serve us well as settler or worker factories.

                          Next Cities:

Pamplona will settle site 2 next (adjusted so that the city is NW one tile from the horses).

Pamplona will quickly settle site 3 and then 8.

Madrid will build units and then settle site 16, sending defenders and possibly a worker to the new site. That site will become somewhat independent and will work to settle 17, 15 and possibly a site on the hills between Sierra Brilliantes and the Arabian Mountains. That site could be a vital strategic location, but it may first be taken by the Arabs.

Madrid will later fill in site 6 and then site 5.

Barcelona will send a settler to site 4, and then either site 7 or 12. It will then focus on ships and sea matters. Perhaps a wonder.

Sites 7 and/or 12 will seed the lower basin with cities, most likely with the help of Pamplona and/or site 4.

Site 8 will build the western cities at sites 10 & 11, and possibly another once we clear the fog.

Some of the double digit sites are still not quite finalized, but they are getting better...

Looks good somewhat, depends on several things. I'll try to update the maps sometime tonight.

I would like to work at running the Site #2 & 3 boarder Cities, to get the boarders established, the defenses built and a few workers generated from them.

                              2510BC - Combined Conjecture Map

This map has the Combined maps that GF sent us and our regular Map. This also has tile conjecture (educated guesses) on the nearby FoW.

                                2510BC Plan #1

[OOC] I learn new things everyday with my CorelDraw Programs & I'm getting faster...[/ooc]

This plan is different from the others, in that Site #9 is moved 1 tile SW. This has a little less Overlap with Pamplona, #8 & #14. I think that I'll also be able to move Site #11 westward too, we'll see when the Exploeres get there.

The Site #9 move allows it to use a Wheat Grassland tile but It would have to build an Aqueduct to get over size 6. We can always have it back on the other spot, but I think it will benifit more from the Wheat Bonus.

This configuration also has sites #1, 2, 3 & 8 Fairly well Finalized.
