Personally, I do NOT like the Irrigation Mod, but the New Forrest & Jungles look awsome. THe Rivers have a good mod, easier to see & the Flood Plains, too.

I'll have to make a quick screen shot, of all the terrains, from the editor, when I get the chance.

I can also Zip & attach them to some E-mail and send them to you.

You don't need to, look in the Apolyton directory

      New citysiteplans

I've made some citysiteplans of my own:

I've placed #2 on the site Lord Togas wanted it to be build, east of the silktile as apointed by E_T. #3 has moved 1 tile to the south compared with E_T's plan. #10 has moved 1 tile to the west because I think it can develop better when having as few as possible desert-tiles in its cityradius. A large empty space remains: useless terrain desert and hills, a combination that is no good place to found a city.
      # 9 and #8 are the newly planned citysites. # 9 is meant to be at shore. # is to fill the space between # 9 and # 10. I've tried to get as few as possible overlap. The main problem her is # 3 and the big empty space between #9, #8, #2, #3 and Pamplona. Site # 3 isn't realy ideal, but at least behind the river as Lord Togas wanted. I've found no solution for the empty space unless we create an overlap.

#2 has moved southeast instead of east. It is still behind the river. #3 has moved southwest as Lord Togas wanted. It is now directly behind the river. #10 is the same as above. #8 has been moved one tile northeast so it gets a small overlap with Pamplona: the mountaintile. I haven't drawn #9 on the map because I think it is better to explore the map in that region first before planning a city. The main problems of the map above have been largely fixed: the empty space has declined and # 3 has very few overlap.

RE: Terrain Mods - how they look

Here is a sample of the Terrain mods that I'd like us to start using.

[EDIT] I use the Forrest, Pine Forrest, River, and a few others. I finf that the Irrigation Mod has a cluttering effect on my screen , that it also hides the roads some and I don't use it. I've made a single Zip file of all of the Terrain Mods that I use. It weights in at 2.7 Megabytes. I will be happy to E-mail it to any one. Let me know if you want it as a single e-mail or multiples (let me know size limes that you have).

2750BC Combined Map, with suggested Explorer routes

I have added the suggested routes for the explorers.

I Imagine that we want to have the Madrid Expedition to keep out of site of the ND boarders, so that we don't unneccissarily alarm them. I would like it to swing back by the NE coast, so that we can see out into the Water as much as we can, for proper City placement bonuses (i,e,Fishes & Whales). It will take them 26 turns to complete this route. If at all posible, could we have them swing back up to the Land's End Hill that is circled, so that we can see as far across the water as is possible, it would only take 3 turns longer.

TEG going E one or two turns would reduce the Madrid Exped trip accordingly, possibly more.

As I've already said, I would like to become the Governor of our becoming first coastal city, Barcelona.

                2750 - Plan 1

I'll work on Plan 2 later, but here is the updated Plan 1. It has the site numbering a bit different but the first 9 are the same as before. I switched #'s 2 & 3, as our Lord Togas wishes to Secure the Horses that we have recently DIscovered.

In this plan, I've moved the Site #3 to the SE, across the River. The main difference between this plan, and next one that I'll be working on, would be that there would be one less city between Sites #3 & 4 (not so packed together).

I've Added a conjuctured coastline, highlite the rivers (what I can desern of them) and added a rutimetary Military Road Network.

The plan for the explorers is excellent. Our expedition leaders should use this as a guideline for the future orders.

The new city scheme is better ... but many of the border cities are still 4 tiles apart with the exception of 6 and 17. I'm very intregued by city 15.

If you take this most recent plan and move #8 North 1 tile, move #2 SW 1 tile, let's see how bad the overlap is. If 2, 3, and 8 can all grow to size 12 cities while all being 3 tiles apart, I think we may have an ideal situation that mixes fluid defense with decent size.

                      Barcelona

Our next city will be on the southern coast. I am pleased to announce that our Cheif Architect, Astrologix, will take up the task of forming a group of settlers and leading this group to the new city site. There, he will create our first true ocean city, a cultural paradise for our people, and perhaps build our first great Wonder of the World.

Here is the area in question, there are numberous overlaps, which would be detrimental to the Growth of those cities. Also, do not forget the we still have no Idea what is in that area for a while.

Oh Great Leader Togas, here is a Map that shows all of the terrain that we know about. It also has some of our letters to designate what the possibilities would be for teh parts that we have still yet to explore.

                              2670BC Site Plan 1

THis plan has the Site #2 still at the same locaton that I've previously had in mind. THe site #8 is moved north, partly from the requests of our Great Leader and from the new Information that the Bulgar Warriors have brought us about that region.

The old site location, would have had the city built in a Flood Plain, wich would not allow the proper building of our people's houses, as they would have to deal with the Annual Floods. But with it moved North, as our Leader had wished, it would allow a high growth for that city, even with the overlap that it will have with Sites 2 & 3. Unfortunately, the move does take it away from the River, and would limit the size of the city, until we have found a way to bring the water from far away to it's citizens.
