  • OOC: Complicated Idea

    Boing! Boing!

Anyways, this idea I've got, it's for a complicated kind of "tile ownership" idea. I mean, we can "buy" (see below) the tiles and our family-clan interests can be set on the properties we own (i.e. senor calamari would require the cow east of Madrid.)

And tile-owners could convince Senor Fernandez (oliverfa?) to send the worker to their tile to improve it.

As for "buy"ing the land, here's basically (I think) how it was done in teh different ages:

Ancient - just Claiming it (and then if you want someone else's land it's decided by the sword, I guess)
Midieval - Claiming and that system with the kings over lords over dukes over knights over serfs or whatever that is.
Industrial - Claiming, I guess, and buying
    Modern - Buying

Maybe Grand Despot Togas can limit the number of tiles owned (except for himself of course ) to let everyone get a grab at the land.

If this proposal passes, I'll say that I want the square SE of Madrid (the forested plainland) because it has both access to the river and the ocean (or at least the ocean through the river ).

And later in teh game when we hit those useless Arctic tiles (whatre they called again? ) I can claim them all

And then sell the Oil to the government for outrageous prices (this all being OOC of course)

I can keep maps of what land everyone owns

Is this too complicated? It wouldnt seem that way.

(And oh yeah the ocean has plenty of Squid )

I wouldn't mind this idea, but I'd rather we started it up later, when we're a bit more established and developed.

As you know, all lands belong to the despot. I may decide to give land to each of you, but I would much prefer to give away cities in the future as we build them.

That's feudalism. Anyway, I think this is an interesting idea, but we live in a despotism and, as the enlightened one (Togas) has already mentioned, only the despot will designate land.

Yeah, come to think of it, it is. I was confusing it with seignorialism, which I think is some system between lords and peasents directly, or some other crap.

Yes, only the Grand Despot Togas will designate land, but if you want to give land to some one else, you can, right? This is entirely OOC (I am planning nothing here) but, say, Senor Clemente might be inclined to give land to Senor Calamari . Right?

Senor Mitchell may also be inclined to give land to the Pikesfan family in reparations for the terrible murder of Senor Ronni Pikesfan, an event on which the Senor has mysteriously refused to comment. I think that this just heightens the likelyhood of his guilt!
